Rant - Dealers

From my understanding the 2010's start orders on July 23rd. In the past week I have contacted 4 dealers inquiring about this. My dealership that I bought the Tahoe from closed last week :P otherwise I would go straight to them. Not 1 has gotten back to me. Do they think I am joking about ordering one? Do they not want to order a 2010? Also to mention these dealers have less than 6 2009's that are not even close to what I want so stock shouldnt be an issue. I am slowly starting to understand why gm is in so much trouble. They ignore their customers :(

I just went on the chevy website and used their online chat with a rep. This is the conversation

Welcome to Chevrolet.com. Please wait while we find an agent to assist you...

Angie S: Hi! How may I help you?

Ryan B: When will dealers be able to take orders for 2010 Silverados?

Angie S: One moment while I look into that for you.

Angie S: In general, truck production is the most difficult to gauge. The truck build-out and start-up schedules are strongly affected by the numerous ordering configurations available for production and because of this; there could be a 3-month window for build-out/start-up. For a better understanding, of the time frame a consumer can expect, they should address the ordering procedure with their local dealer. Would you like me to assist you in locating a dealership in your area?

I just got off the phone with my local dealer who I've been dealing with for 20 years and he said that the last word they got was around late August or early September. :P

I guess if you're willing to drive out to New Mexico, I can hook you up with this guy.

I looked at GM online order reference guide and they only have a few 2010 models listed, no trucks BTW. Diesel place is saying 2010 won't be available until January.

wheels.com has the 2010 orders starting July 23rd. Also show Production starts Oct 15th, originally it was sept but it keeps getting pushed back.

Just talked to the dealer,

Does this sound right?

I just talked to my General Manager and he stated that we are going to be sending in our first orders for the 2010 Silverado models on Friday

Where did you go to do this? I have some ass to chew about my lifters, and wouldn't mind trying this route.

Latest message from the dealer I have been talking to.

One minute we can start orders next they cant

I just talked to my General Manager and he said that our Regional Rep called today and let him know that they are going to be continuing orders on 2009 truck models at this time. She stated that we should be able to order the 2010 models starting in September. I'm sorry for the confusing, but we were just told this today. Please keep checking in with me closer to September and if something happens before then, I will let you know.
