What Kind Of Tires With My Leveling Kit?

So I ordered the 2'' Skyjacker Leveling Kit a while back, and finally have the time to install it next week because of Thanksgiving. So I was wondering what tires everyone would recommend after I put that on? I have a 2007 NNBS Silverado Z71 4x4 LTZ, and want to keep the stock 18'' wheels, just get new tires. I'm looking for either an A/T or M/T tire, not sure which yet.

I'm looking to go 275/70-18 right now, or something that's right at 33". I hunt with a couple guys who have gone with the same size after a level and they said they've had little to no rubbing. I've also removed that plastic air dam from the front end, if that makes a difference at all. I've heard good things about BFG's of course, as well as the newer Goodyear MT/R's with Kevlar, but don't know much outside of that and whether I should go A/T or M/T.

Any thoughts would be appreciated, thanks guys.

I would recommend Nitto Terra grappler, BFG AT's or Michelin AT-2 for an A/T tire.

Muds, I would go with Nitto mud grappler or Pro Comp X-terrain.

I like all these tires because they have low noise levels on the highway, and are excellent off road.

Thanks man. I've been looking at Terra Grapplers, but what do you think about the Goodyear Wrangler DuraTracs? They're kind of new and I haven't heard too much about them. I can get some in the size I'm looking for at $222 a tire.

Ditto on the Pro Comps. They do not get enough credit as they are not as common at your local tire shop. I put 50k on a set of ProComp ATs and they were awesome. Replaced those with the Toyo Open Countrys. Nice tire too. They move the deep water much better than the PCs did, but the PCs had better wet, dry, and off-road traction overall. Ride quality was about the same IMO. Both looked good and put the stock Duelers to shame.

Yah the Dueler's definitely need to go, I had some trouble opening weekend of deer season because it rained real hard at the ranch and I couldn't get traction hardly. I think I'm going to go A/T, I'm between ProComps, Terra Grapplers, and DuraTracs right now. I've spent half my afternoon getting prices at local places, now I just need to let go of the money.

Thanks for the help guys

Have no Idea about the G/Y duratrac...like you said, they're pretty new.

I do like the look of the Procomps and Nittos much more though.

Check out the Mickey Thompson ATZ's... most aggressive looking AT tire on the market; perfect for guys that want the MT look but don't need MT performance most of the time.

so which ones did you end up going with...and did you get any pics? Any issues with the 275/70s rubbing??

I just put the leveling kit on today, tires are getting put on next week either tuesday or wednesday. I took my truck to the Chevy dealership here and used their lift and air tools to put it on. But my friend got me a decent deal on 4 Goodyear Wrangler DuraTracs in 275/70R18 so I'm doing that. We threw some 285/70R17s on it with the gmc rims today just to see if they would rub and I had more than an inch of room so they shouldn't rub.

Once I get the tires put on and the truck cleaned up I'll post pics and give everyone details on the install.

any updates on this?

Sorry, haven't been around a computer much since I'm studying for finals. I got the tires installed yesterday afternoon, and so far no complaints at all. They don't rub at all, and really look good on the truck. I'll try and get some pics up once I wash it and get the camera from my girlfriend.
