What do you have to do to have fog lights for a GMC Sierra that has blanks in the holes and no fog light symbol on the dash knob? Is the harness there ??? Do you have to replace the harness and dash knob ?? Is there a plug-n-play out there for this mod???

I had to swap plugs on the dash and add a additional harness.

That was on a silverado though. Don't see how it would be much different

My information leads me that it may be very difficult to install factory Fogs on a 2014 GMC Sierra or 2015.

Okay ,

what I mean is I want to install a factory system on my 2014 GMC Sierra 1500. At this time I have a factory Delete.

My searching brought me to find out I can put in the Bezels , lamps plus the bulbs.

Next I was going to get factory wiring and a factory switch.

I was told that I could never get them working because the lighting now goes through the BCM.

They'res a code needed for them to work properly. I figure now I can hook them up to my crappy halogen wires

With a relay. If one wants to use a toggle switch that would work too. I can't see at night with these crappy

Head lights. If some one could lead me in the right direction or has the lens forsale I'm looking for Them .

From there I will figure out what to do. I can't afford D2 LED lights and brackets.

Thank You,

I hope I'm wrong .

I'm in on this bandwagon too... didn't think I would miss the fogs from my old truck but I do. I have a '14 Sierra SLE with blanks in the bumper... I'm wanting to put in stock Bezels and stock switch. May go with some aftermarket fogs lights though. If I get the parts in this post will I be good to go? I know I will probably need a reflash for the switch to work, right?

You're going to spend a lot to get the OEM fogs which won't do squat to help you see. Guys that have them either never use them or swap them out for a light that puts out enough light to be useful.

For what this will cost you. Either a HID kit in your OEM projectors or a HID projector retrofit will eliminate the need for any additional lighting and will be more useful for real driving.

As spurshot noted, mayby you should look for thread on this site about installing led fog lights with a remote switch system....look up infintyoff road. A member of this site " All Terrain" will guide you from there.I ordered stuff from them and I live in Canada...the best shipping from the US I've ever got.

But check out thread about LED lights if it's your thing, no harm done to read thread......

I've already made the emotional committment to HID in the OEM projectors, that's going to happen within the month. Just haven't decided on which HID's. Maybe I'll start their and worry about the fogs later.

I wanted to order an HID Kit to replace the worst halogen light bulbs ever put in

To a vehicle a 2014 GMC Sierra 1500 5.3L

My answer was they won't work properly with out a canceling resistor.

They will go blinking there way to death. Or not work at all.

Then I read that Gmc put in a crappy reflective headlight lens and the Hid's would not be as bright as the should be. It's a mess. They should have taped flash lights in there it would have come out better.

How could a number One truck in my eyes truck start pulling cheap tricks like halogen lights in the first place.

In this day and age? It's not like I bought a Dodge . Oh wait all the Dodge trucks have Hid Head lamps.

I broke my own rule not to buy the first year redesign.

First, you guys that can't afford hundreds of dollars for d2 lights are probably going to end up on a more practical path anyway. D2 lights, even the DOT approved ones, will likely be too powerful to use in areas with oncoming traffic. A good set of low beam lights is the first need, IMO.

There are at least a couple inexpensive options. An inexpensive HID kit like the DDM, or a upgrade of the OEM 9012 HIR halogen bulb to the 9011, which is about a 25% bump.

Yes I just purchased them for my 2014 GMC Sierra.

If your still interested let me know and I will post them tomorrow.

I remove the fog deletes on both sides in about 10 minutes.

There are some plastic spring clips and four bolts on each side . Use a 7mm wrench swivel type ratcheting Specially when you install the new bezels

. I am just trying to figure where I will wire the fogs . I would like to make it clean as possible.

I have to run new wires . There is no wire looms from the factory.

I was hoping to run them to a new switch from GM parts.

I don't know if it's possible to do that. The new light switch may be

Enclosed . Any one know if that is possible?

Thanks

3 weeks old 1500 Denali. I think these fog lights are pretty decent. I have not looked to see what wattage or if they are

quartz or just incandesent bulbs. Would like to know if higher wattage or LEDs are available?

I know this is an old post, but does anyone know of an OEM wirining harness for fog lights on a GMC Sierra 2014? I've looked on gmupfitter and found nothing. I'm surprised no one has made one yet

    • My 2025 Silverado 1500 had to receive a brand-new engine (long block) under warranty last month at only around 16,500 miles. Before the replacement, the truck repeatedly displayed "Engine Oil Level Low" warnings, even though the Oil Life Monitor still showed around 50% remaining after about 6,000 miles since my last oil change. After seeing the warning several times, I checked the dipstick with the engine cold, and the oil level was completely normal. The next day, the message escalated to "Add Engine Oil." At first, I assumed it was just a faulty oil level sensor, so I brought the truck to the dealership. After inspecting the engine, they found internal cylinder wall scoring and ultimately replaced the entire long block under warranty. Before this happened, I was planning to install a 4-inch lift and suspension upgrade on my truck. After needing a new engine at just 16,500 miles, I honestly don't see the point anymore. I also contacted GM to ask whether my vehicle qualified for a buyback, but I was informed that it does not at this time. Anyway, this experience has left me with serious concerns about the long-term reliability of this engine. I sincerely hope NHTSA expands the current investigation or recall to include 2025 model and performs a thorough inspection of affected vehicles. My biggest concern is that these engines may fail shortly after the powertrain warranty expires. If GM truly stands behind this engine, then at the very least, please consider extending the powertrain warranty to 10 years for affected owners. That would go a long way toward restoring customer confidence.
    • Without exception but then I'm the odd duck, right? I know what goes into that test, how it is calculated and thus how to beat it. But EPA values are often not beaten by the general public and the government has in past years adjusted the means and methods to come to those values to more closely approximate "Joe Average".    The only real trick to beating that EPA average is don't drive like "Joe Average".    It's the same method you used to profit from "Economic Migration" and in doing so beat the 'stats'. But you, like me, are not "Joe Average".     The thing you don't seem to grasp is this "Purchasing Power Index" isn't forward looking. It doesn't predict what it going to be but looks backward and states what it was. They are not telling us what the THINK, they are telling us what they MEASURED. Example:    Wife says "I'm going to lose 40 pounds by Christmas". May she does, maybe she doesn't but the doctors office who weighed her when she made that statement and again at Christmas only REPORTS what the RESULT was. You and I can banter about what was possible and what aunt Tilly did till the cows come home but the result is the result. Arguing otherwise is.....irrational. That's all I'm saying. This isn't about:      What you are calling a 'Statistic' is a RESULT not a CALCUATION and as a result the RULE. Like gravity as a rule, it can not be broken.
    • Just wanted to say thank you for posting this. Years later, your thread is still helping Silverado owners.   I bought my 2025 Silverado 1500 in January 2025, and I've had what feels like the exact same rattle since day one. After reading your findings, I believe my truck has the same issue with the cable carrier contacting the rear sliding window. To be honest, I had pretty much given up on pursuing the issue. It wasn't until I recently drove another brand's pickup that I realized just how quiet their cabin was—and how noisy mine has been all along. On my truck, the rattle happens on almost any paved road, gets even worse on rougher pavement, and I can even hear it during braking and acceleration.   I actually referenced your thread when submitting my case to GM, hoping they'll recognize this as a recurring issue instead of treating it as an isolated incident. The reason I reached out to GM first is because my dealership told me they would need to keep the truck for at least two days just to diagnose the problem. I was concerned that even after two days, they still might not be able to identify the source of the rattle before giving the truck back to me. I had also asked a few dealerships about this issue during previous service visits, but none of them seemed to know what was causing it or had a solution. That's why I decided to contact GM directly first, hoping they might already have an official repair procedure or guidance for this issue.   I also hope GM eventually comes up with an official fix for this problem. I have a feeling there are many Silverado owners experiencing the same rattle, but most either choose to live with it or simply don't know what the cause is.   Really appreciate you taking the time to document your diagnosis. Your post is still making a difference years later.
    • I have 2 choices.
    • Do you have access to BP fuels? Some stations have Silver 91 E-0 priced the same as their 93 E-10.  There is a local Marathon with 90 alky free for $6 a gallon but I go down the road to BP for $5-ish. They also have a 100 E-0 but that stuff is $10 a pop.
