Always Air Out Of My Hvac System

Manual style heat / ac unit with dual controls

 

The switch is in the off position

 

but no matter what setting the system is in I constantly get air coming out of the vents (Only when car is moving)

I have tried to put the Recirc button on as well, even with this on i get airfow...

 

What gives?

When I put mine on recirc it stops, maybe your door isnt closing or solenoid is bad?

I cant stop airflow from coming out of the vents? It blows fairly hard considering no fan is on.

First of all I'd make sure that it is the recirc door not closing.....does the recirc door close when running the a/c?

recirc door probably does not shut when set to ANY Defrost setting or A/C setting.. Atleast my 08 doesnt... I hate the constant flow at times because it dries out my contacts.. I just turn it to dash vents or floor vents and and hit the recirc button.

Im in the same boat - dries out my eyes as well... I'll check to see if it closes when AC is on - may be hard to tell in the cold IL weather

I may be crazy but I don't think it needs to be fixed. I can't think of a car that I've been in that doesn't blow air when it's moving and everything is off. Could be to make sure plenty of fresh air is continuously entering the cabin. Just a guess.

At highway speeds it blows harder than if i had it on speed of 1. I find that hard to believe that I cant make it flow less than that.

 

also when I ran the A/C then pushed the re-circ button the speed did not get any more forceful that tells me that door is not closing??
