:) in the process of restoring/rebuilding 93 shortbed sportside, had a question as to which is the better engine for this build, will also be installing tuneport injection from a 90's vette. have already changed intake for this setup, plans include 24lbs injectors, shorty headers, exhuast work already done, no cats and free flow system installed. looking for around 400hp, is this possible with this setup, also is there a way around the speed sensor/govenor that cuts out the power around 93mph, as again this will be a street/show truck, hope to send pic's in the future. thanks for a replies.

I don't think 400 hp is attainable with that injection system with those injectors. I would say you would need an absolute minimum of 30 lb/hr injectors for either engine (I'd do 36lb probably). For a street/show truck either engine should suffice, but I would do the 383 anyway.

The zz4 would be a better street-able choice and would get better mileage than the 383 stroker.

thanks for the two posts 1-on the taillights, 2-on the upgrade choice, any idea's on how to get rid of the speed sensor/govenor on these trucks. i'm tired of truck bogging down around 92mph. thanks

Well..........................There's the redneck way of putting a switch on the vss sensor. But, the only proper way to do it is to buy a programmer or get a custom tune. I got a diablosport on mine, and I can't top it out at the speed limiter anymore because of my 4.10 gears. But it'll raise your speed limiter to 153 mph.

Edit: I forgot you had a 93, instead of a tuner or tune, you'd have to buy a tbi chip for your ecm located behind the glove box.
