Anyone know how to remove the drivers door panel on a 98 chevy pick up?

You need to remove the tim ring around the door handle. the traingle peice by the mitrror & pull off the switch plate. Then there are screws in the arm rest and under the switch plate, then the rest of the door is held on with plastic pop clips.

 

Not too hard once you find all of the screws, just take you time pulling it off so you dont break any of the plastic.

ok those are all done but the panel feels realy solid still. Does it pop up or out or to one side?

 

there are clips on the bottom that look like its left to right but on the top they look like u need to pull up

 

also there wasnt a screw behind the switch panel....that sounds more like the 99+ new body

The clips are kind of tough they are a two peice platic that pops straight out. Once you get them loose the top slides over the top of the door along the lower winow edge. It may help to have the window all the way down to give you more room to work the panel out.

 

I was going off of memory when I did my '95 to replace a door handle and I thought there was a screw under the switch plate.

 

 

.... just took a look there is not a screw under the switch cover...

had to pull pretty hard but she popped right off
