New Magnaflow Exhaust!!!

Finally installed new Magnaflow Exhaust on my 6.0. I read lots of threads on this site concerning exhaust choices and decided to go with the Magnaflow. They don't make a cat-back for the ext.cab short-bed so I got the 5"x8" dual 3" in and dual 3" out to fit in place of the factory muffler and a 4"x5" big SS tip. Took it to local custom exhaust shop to have it welded up and I Love It! The sound is deep, throaty, and tough. It may be a little loud for some, but it puts a smile on my face everytime I mash the GO pedal. I especially like pulling up next the driver's window of coffee can exhaust civics, giving it a little rev, and watching their faces! Tip is in stock location and size gives the look of a diesel big exhaust. Anyway...I would recommend this setup to most, unless you don't want as loud, then I might suggest the 5"x11" muffler which, according to Magnaflow, is a little quiter.

Nice. I got a Corsa for my 1500, and I love it too. Do you find your exhaust increased your low range power? I know mine did. I had an Edelbrock exhaust on my 93 k1500 350, and it really woke up that motor too.

I wonder how much deeper the 6.0 sounds than the 5.3. Probably significantly. Congrats on your new exhaust. No sense having a truck without it sounding good.

That sounds like a good setup.  Do you hear much drone in the cab using that smaller magnaflow?

There is some drone at low speeds during acceleration and at higher speeds under load (going up steep hills, etc.) but at cruising speeds and steady driving it is not bad at all. I have had it now for a couple weeks and I guess I'm getting used to it though because it doesn't bother me at all anymore.

I have the larger Magnaflow, and love it! I got mine done last october and still get a smile on my face, I'm sure you will too. The best is when other truck owners com up to you and compliment you, I get it at least every other week. I LOVE MY TRUCK!

Just so I am clear....You just bought the muffler and had the exhaust shop supply the pipes/install? I am having a hecl of a time figuring out the exhaust. I have the same truck as you. Unless you want to spend 1,000 on a borla...you have to be creative. Thanks for any info.

Best Regards,

Yes, I bought the muffler and tip, the shop cut out the factory muffler and welded the new one in with two 3" pipes after the muffler to make up the difference in length. I kept the factory tail piece (dual 3" to single 3-1/2" "Y", then over the axle) except had them weld on a 5" diameter SS tip at the outlet.

Price: Muffler $95 (ebay), Tip $55 (ebay), exhaust shop $60

I'll try to get some pics posted soon.
