Installed Gm Chrome All-terrain Grille Today - With Pics!

I installed the GMC Chrome All-Terrain grille today on my 2008 GMC Sierra and couldn't be happier with it. I wanted a chrome grille but didn't want an aftermarket grille that I would have to worry about fit and finish with so I went with the Genuine GM grille. back when I purchased my truck I originally wanted one with the All-Terrain package but the dealer didn't have a steel grey model in stock so I settled for the SLT with the factory 20's. I kick myself in the ars for not waiting for a steel grey All-Terrain to come in but it's too late now right!!! The All-Terrain grille is all chrome and has four cross bars instead of just the three, it came with the GMC emblems already installed and was a direct replacement.

GM All-Terrain Grille Part Number 25809578

GM list is $415

My GM Employee cost was only $251

Installation was pretty simple.

1) Open hood and remove the 8 plastic clips from the black radiator cover above the grille.

2) Remove the four 10mm screws from the top of the grille.

3) Remove the four 7mm screws (two on each side) from the painted plastic body filler under the grille. screws are located at the wheel well openings. be careful/gentle - after the screws are removed it's just held in by clips and the tabs which you can see by looking behind the grille from above.

4) Use a pair of pliers to squeeze the holding tabs of the metal clips which are used to secure the grille to the radiator support. Remove grille and set aside.

5) Install new Grille with clips only.

6) Install filler panel.

7) Install the four 10mm screws but don't tighten!!!

8) Install the black radiator cover with the rear retaining clips, align the front holes with the openings in the new grille then tighten the four 10mm screws then install the front retaining clips in the radiator cover.

9) Wash truck and take plenty of pictures to post on GM-Trucks!!!

Now, that is a sharp ride, Dave! Thanks for the installation instructions. I'll print it for future reference when I get one of these grills. :idiot:

The grille looks great, but the smoked bug deflector looks a little out of place. I thinka color-matched one would go better with the rest of the truck.

WHAT??????? I CAN"T HEAR YOU!!!!!! LA LA LA LA LA LA. J/K

I happen to like the looks of the 4x4 decals on the back, I would like to get them made in chrome/black to go with my grey and chrome theme I've got going on.

Well, to each their own, but in case you wanna see what it'll look like with them off, here ya go. I like it MUCH better with them off. Not a fan of decals/pinstripes. Badges aren't as bad, but eventually they will all come off too. I did remove the gay little GM squares from the doors though.

BTW, did I mention you have excellent taste in trucks? :idiot:

I still like the decals on the back, looks sort of plain with them gone but thanks for posting the pic though! Jeff - any plans on adding the GM rear wheel well liners? would give your truck a more detailed appearance.
