Finally Lifted!

So I finally bit the bullet and had my truck lifted. Picked it up this afternoon and what can I say, I'm absolutely amazed. I can't understand how I didn't do this earlier.

So, I had the 4" Rancho kit installed w/ the RS9000 series 10-way adjustable shocks all the way around. The reason I went with Rancho (other than the good reputation) is because I love the look of lifted trucks with the stock wheels and fat tires. The Rancho kit allows the use of the stock rims, and I already had a set of 33" Cooper Discoverer STTs that were less than 10k miles old. I was somewhat planning on having to get slightly larger tires, now I'm not so sure. I like the way the 33s look, might go to 295 or 305 if anything.

I am extremely impressed. Fit and finish of the Rancho kit is great. The installer (who has owned his 4x4 shop for almost 20 years) kept commenting on how easy the installation went and how impressed he was witht the kit and overall look once complete. As far as ride, I haven't had much time to play with the shocks yet. Currently, they are set on #5 (from 1 to 10) all the way around, and believe it or not, I think the ride might actually be better than stock. It can only get better as I fine tune the front and rears separately.

By the way, for a kit advertised as 4", I gained over 5" front and rear.

Anyway, here are some pics (one of which turned out so nice it should be a Rancho/GMC ad I think)

I like!!! Looks good :sigh:

Now you got me thinking.....

But if I lift my truck any more than the front leveling kit/rear lift-blocks that are on it now my friend will kill me!!! She's about ready to kill me everytime she has to "hop-up"/"jump-out" now!!

I like it, really like it!

The 6" lifts I've seen almost look too tall, like they are way too top heavy. The 4" lift seems just about perfect.

And please do not read any sexual innuendos in to my post.

Oh, and you don't need new tires, those look great just as-is. Good work!

the current tires look decent, but it would look much better IMO with a slightly larger/wider tire.

Looks GREAT as is, but would be perfect with a set of 305s. I'd just drove this set until they're gone, it's not like they look tiny or anything. :sigh:
