This last weekend I went ahead with putting in the OEM LED tail lights from the LTZ model on my new 2018 Silverado LT. Overall the installation was successfull and fairly easy to do. The tail lights that I have had the stock GM harnesses still attached and I ordered a tail light harness (with resistors for hyperflash) from PGamboa. BTW if you are planning on doing this mod I would HIGHLY suggest the kit from @pgamboa. The kit was shipped quickly, was made with quality and I have never met a person that was willing to answer so many stupid questions from me . I would say that the most difficult parts of the entire process was picking a good place to mount the resistors, and doing the actual routing of the stock wire harness. The cables from the tails are actually threaded down behind the lights and down to almost the middle of the truck near the spare tire to an electrical hook up. If I could give anyone advice on this it would be to drop the spare and move it out ahead of time, makes clipping the cables in way easier. So onto the picks: Before the project: Where I decided to mount the resistors. This is on the drivers side and it is close to where the other cables run down. The cables were eventually routed in that opening to the left and continued through the stock channels: Close up off the resistor location: Afterwards, lit up at night: and with the reverse lights on: I know that some people say that they are too expensive, however I just think that they look better than most of the aftermarket tail lights that are out there. Also yes I am planning on adding White LED Reverse lights and LED License plate bulbs. If you have any questions about the process I would be happy to try and answer them.1 point

Actually, the inclusion of HD radio isn't reliant on the HMI, but the radio module itself. A U2M radio is HD Radio capable, while a U2K radio is just a regular tuner (With XM). So, for example, I have a U2M radio in my truck, with a 2.5 HMI. I still have HD radio, but no pause or rewind. Just the higher quality signal.1 point

Thank you for the quick response Phil. I am not looking for power folding so if you could do 555 GM OEM shipped to my house that would be awesome as I do not want aftermarket. Also I have not had a chance to watch your videos, is installing the jumpers at the door and hood something that is easily accomplished? Lastly, I guess what am I looking at in overall cost if I purchase everything to make the lights work as functioned?1 point

The guy came to get his cluster this morning, never seen any body so happy to get something fixed. Now I know why I like to do this! I was asking $60 and I thought that might have been a bit high for the work I did but he thought otherwise. He gave me $100 and would not take the $40 change. I like it when people really appreciate my work.1 point

Do you have a link for a "DIY" on this install? I really like your setup.1 point

Hi Phil, I currently have an 2014 LT 5.3L. I would like to upgrade to the chrome towing mirrors. When I look for them online It keeps bringing me to this mirrors Part number 23372181. When I go through the check if it fits my vehicle it tells me it does not fit. So a few questions: will this part fit my truck? if it does and i purchase your plug and play harness will i have functionally of the new mirrors? Thanks for keeping this thread alive, I enjoy the information.1 point

I'm one of those that researched and researched and used this 2014+ thread many times to browse pics and fitments. Figured I'd throw mine on here to help the next guy. 2018 SLT 4x4 Z71 package Onyx Black with Cocoa Dune interior. First pic is the day it was delivered to my driveway. Here's what I've done: --Tint front two windows --Removed front air dam --Removed stock step rails --Color Matched GMC front and back --2" Rough Country Leveling Kit up front (the 1" spacer under the strut) - stock in the rear --Fuel Maverick Gloss Black and Milled (20x9 with +1 offset) - I wanted to go for more stance and read where +1 Mavericks would fit. The gloss black complements that new black paint as opposed to the matte. The milled edges bring out the chrome just enough to tie it all together (I'm not a huge fan of the all blackout). --Nitto Ridge Grapplers 295/55/20. Also didn't realize the Ridge Grapplers had two different reversible sidewalls...I decided on the more uniform sidewall that has more "chunk" so to speak. They are absolutely awesome looking tires. Have some road noise but nothing major. I noticed on my camera that the gloss black nerf style step bars arrived today so I'll throw those on this weekend. I wanted to go for more a stockish look but with a little meaner stance and the +1's accomplished that. At full lock there is a very minor rub on the inner fender liner but I'll zip tie it back and be good to go.1 point

Hey, new Sierra owner here. Traded in my 03 Yukon for this 2016 Sierra AllTerrain. Love it so far. I’m trying to get the dealer to send me the build sheet for it as it has some different options from what I’ve been finding on other All terrains. It seems to have a small lift or leveling kit on it. Chrome accessories etc.1 point
