I wouldn't do it but one way to find out. Sent from my SM-N960U using Tapatalk2 points

Just had my Cooper STT Pro 35/12.50/20 tires installed. I do have a 1.5 inch leveling kit on the front. I have not cut or modified anything on the truck other than the leveling kit and they fit with no rub even at full lock. It's pretty tight but they do fit. Thanks for all of the helpful info on this thread!2 points

Just picked mine up last week. Looking at doing same thing. Any rubbing, cutting or bending with those 35s on stock wheels? Thanks.1 point

Yeah, I am really surprised that GM felt the need to depart from 4.10. It might be from a mpg mindset, but usually that doesn't play out as neat as the folks in cubicles think they will. 12 mpg is really lame. I do that well running E85 in my 6.0L. When I have done road trips using E85 exclusively, I have gotten 13-14 mpg with 95% highway. The newly designed 6.6 running E10 should get that on a bad day. On road trips with my 6.0 running regular E10, it has averaged 17-18 mpg with 95% highway. I may not expect the 6.6 to get better than that, but with its new design and direct injection, it should at least match it. Heck, on road trips I could get 16 mpg with my '98 2500 454. There must be something we are missing here for the new 6.6 to get such lousy mpg. While it is a different motor than the 6.0, from what I have seen of the HP / Torque graphs on the motor, some similarities remain. Just like the 6.0, it doesn't reach 90% of torque until about 2100-2200 RPM. So if the 3.73 is keeping the engine RPM's significantly lower at road speed, it is taking more fuel to overcome rotational inertia and fuel economy suffers. Just lessons learned from running commercial heavy trucks for several decades. I have a spread sheet that I use to calculate road speeds based on tire rotation, trans gear ratios, and diff ratios. From what I can tell, and assuming the 6 spd in the 2020 2500 has the same gear ratios as the 6L90, with 3.73 and stock rubber on 18" rims (about 32.8 tire diameter / 637 revs per mile), the rpm's would only be about 1850 at 70 mph. If running taller rubber, the RPM's drop even more. So much so that the RPM's are way outside the optimum range to be efficient. It is taking more fuel to keep things moving. The motor is essentially lugging the truck along. I did a calc using 285/65R20 which are 34.5" with 602 revs per mile. RPMs' would be about 1750 at 70 mph. That is going to really be terrible for fuel economy. The engine is having to really suck fuel at that low of RPM to keep things moving. Overcoming rotational inertia is killing fuel economy. Whereas with 4.10 ratio, the RPM's would be around 1950 at 70 mph. A lot closer to the optimum of the motor but not quite there. So the 34.5" rubber is having a negative affect for sure. And tied with 3.73 the results are terrible. Cliff1 point

No, I think the O.P. wants the rear door to just open further. The GMT800's extended cab rear doors would swing out maybe 110-130 degrees or so, while with newer models, the rear door will open up almost 180 degrees (or at least, noticeably more than the GMT800 doors). Anyway, I would expect it to take a fair amount of fabbing. I know the hinges to the front door are welded both to the cab and the door, the extended door is probably similarly welded, Trying to use newer hinges in the older door/cab would be a trial and error thing, as both the cab and the door are significantly different.1 point

A coworker went in to buy an F150 and walked out with a 250 because of this.1 point

7k was about when mine started leaking. But yours being a later build it may very well be nothing too. Hopefully.1 point

Yeah, I've had that sinking feeling as well. Maybe after 7K miles it's finally wiggled enough to lose its seal. Ugh. I need to take it in for the seat belt recall, anyway. So I guess I might as well have them fix this and my squeaking rear brakes, too.1 point

I agree Cowpie. As my dad use to say “ the more stuff on em is just more stuff to break.” This is my 6th Sierra to buy from this dealership so they always take pretty good care of me. I was going to walk away as I was insisting on the extra 2000 off to get me to 20% off with my salesman. Sales Manager came out to talk to me and said they really wouldn’t be discounting the AT4’s any more till late spring unless GM increased their incentives. Both my salesman and him are pretty straight shooters. I have always enjoyed dealing with them. They are a very high volume GMC dealer. They sell 20 to 30 vehicles a day and double that amount on a Saturday. Haven’t had any other dealer come close to their prices around here. Supposedly the number one GMC dealership in the country. Wife told me to just get the truck and enjoy it if it was what I really wanted instead of waiting. Going to be my last one for awhile since I retired last Dec so I just bit the bullet and got one with everything on it. Usually just bought a SLT. Pretty nice truck though. Think I’m going to enjoy it.1 point

Mine were covered by the carpet. I actually didnt think I had them at all, but I looked at my center jump seat install pics and there they were. They fit under the OEM premium floor liners without issue... Sent from my SM-G975U using Tapatalk1 point

Frustrating you cant do it wireless but certainly nothing unsafe about connecting via usb before you start driving, works fine.1 point

Thanks. It was about $700.00 when everything was said and done. Totally worth it in my opinion as it changes the entire front look of the truck.1 point

Why even bother with "qualifying rebates" and other marketing tools to get a customer on the lot. Just work towards 20% off MSRP. It is just that simple. And don't let any trade, if you have one, enter into the negotiation. That is a separate negotiation. If you let the dealer combine the two, it allows the slicker dealers to play a 3 card Monty game and twist the numbers in their favor while the customer is thinking they are getting a great deal. Let the dealer worry about what customer rebates and dealer rebates to apply. Oh yes.... they get some incentives also that you will never see. There is not a dealer in the country that cannot make a reasonable profit at 20% off of MSRP even though they may cry and wail that they cannot. It can be argued that they could still make a profit at 25% off MSRP. And there are thousands of dealers around the country, so if one is not going to be reasonable, move on to another. Save your driving and negotiate with dealers online. And any dealer can get a vehicle from another dealer if they do not have exactly what you want. Twice I have had dealers get new vehicles from other dealers. And keep your voice down if a sales guy walks out of a cubicle where you are negotiating. It is common practice to listen via the intercom to what the customer is talking about with their spouse or friend and use that as leverage in the negotiation. If you want to discuss things, walk out and go outside and discuss out of ear range. And always keep in mind..... the dealer has already paid for any vehicle sitting on their lot. Either directly or thru their floor plan agreement with a financial arm. All this incentive and rebate stuff is smoke and mirrors off of a already inflated MSRP. Just bypass that nonsense and go right for a reasonable price on the vehicle. They need to sell that vehicle. No OEM is gong to take it back if they can't.1 point

Almost forgot, but I hit this last night, felt special to me as my other 3 vehicles were all bought with over 100K on the clock at least Sent from my SM-N975U1 using Tapatalk1 point

Cleaned her inside and out today. Bought her brand new 14 months ago. Have installed Amp Power Steps, oem dl3 mirrors with help from Phil Gamboa’s harness, center console with Homelink, radar detector, and a dash cam. My old 94 extended cab is in the back ground. Have owned her for 24 years. My oldest son currently drives her.1 point

Well took my truck,to the dealer today. They removed the fuel filler hose and checked for any blockage. Finding none they put it back together. Filled up and no fuel spilling out and the gas nozzle cut off as it should when the feud reached the filler neck. Hope it will last! No more fuel on my truck and all over the ground. Bit puzzled why taking the hose off and putting it back on without doing anything fixed it? Any ideas?1 point
