  1. Tire letters are the 2020 version of Monster Stickers.
  2. A mock corona virus "pandemic" convention hosted by Bill Gates 4 months before the corona virus pandemic hits? Give me a break. The guy stands to make billions when he releases his vaccine. Anyone know anyone that is deathly ill and in hospital on a ventilator? Personally, not a news clipping/photo, celebrity or hear-say? Your mom, brother, friend, otherwise healthy and now in intensive care? No test kits in my part of the world. Canadian media now claiming the confirmed Covid19 cases do not need to be retested after 14 day self-isolation and are effectively good to return to normal life... When have we shut the economy off for a virus? H1N1, Sars, Bird Flu, Ebola, Zika, West Nile? Remember last year when CNN told us they had video of airstrikes in Syria and it turned out to be military training exercises in mainland USA? There is a lot more than a virus going on here, in my opinion. I have been tirelessly looking into this, haven't been spending much time on the forum. Follow the money people. Call me a tin hatter all you want, it is our duty as a citizen to study situations like this and not just accept everything the media or officials say as blind truth. They have given us plenty of reasons not to trust them throughout history. One thing is certain after all this, higher taxes and less human rights. Godspeed everyone and stay safe.
  3. Watch this video guys and gals. It may (should) make you ask yourself a few questions by the end of it.
  4. Thanks for clarifying. Would you agree that the Alaskan edition would be the best suited if you are ordering a plow truck?
  5. Does the Alaskan edition come with a Boss mount already installed? There was a TFL video on it the other day. Would probably be an easier route to take if you are ordering a truck.
  6. Hi welcome to the forum. Unfortunately some people here have discouraged 1SLOW1500 from participating in the forums, so he is no longer here to help with turbo questions. You will have better luck on Performance Trucks .net or LS1tech getting the help you need with tuning.
  7. Impressive. 50hp gain over stock with 91 unleaded. Wish they would sell E85 in Canada but we don't produce enough corn that we can turn it into fuel and also export for food. They tried it for a few years then cancelled the program. C16 race fuel or100LL Av Gas is all we have.
  8. So key off, out of the ignition, door open and the fans will still run? Sounds like a BCM or ECM problem. Which ever one controls the cooling system, most likely the ECM. I don't think it is a repair you can do without their fancy computers.
  9. Personally I position my rear-view mirror so that I can just see the top of the tailgate in bottom the mirror. If I see road or airspace, I know my gate is down. But this trick was learned after I have been there too as a contractor, leaving tools on my tailgate and taking off without doing a proper 360 circle check. Lost a set of impact sockets one time but luckily found the set on my customers mile long driveway. This is why unionized contractors in Canada place orange cones at the front and rear of the truck when parked so you always do a circle check to put your cones away.
  10. They had electric cars in late 1800's and early 1900's that would go 80-90miles on a single charge. Now, 110 years later we can only top out at 200 miles if all the stars and moon align to make the perfect conditions. Unpredictability is another factor, I know how far I can go on a tank of gas, if you run into colder temps, a snow covered road, a low tire, that will all lower your economy a bit, how much do things like that effect EV's? I just got back from a 750km (466mi) one-way trip to the Northern Reserves in Canada to drop off a trailer load some water treatment equipment, 5000#. That 750km may seem like a small distance, but it took 13 hours to travel loaded through the bush and swamps after 400km of good road, 10 hrs unloaded. 2.5 tanks of gas, 1.25 on the way back. How is an EV ever going to do something like that? Truck ran for 31 hours straight. Carried some extra cans with me. You're not carrying an extra DeWalt battery for your car.
  11. In Canada so nothing, as we have to willingly allow the meth-heads to kill us here or we go to jail. Now they want to take away all our rifles now too because of "AR15's used in mass shootings in the USA". So any of you second amendment guys feel free to start dropping these psychopaths before they become an anti-gun media's wet dream. Don't ever let those rights go.
  12. I have had 2 6L80e's and 1 8L90e. The 6 speed is the better trans. 8 speed is great when it works right but it seems like 1/5 trucks with the 8 speed actually work properly. Not worth the swap IMO, even if free. Never had an issue with the 6L, my 8L needed a new TC then eventually the whole trans was replaced. Shifts nice now, love the trans but the juice isn't worth the squeeze. Going back to 4L85e would be a better mod honestly, you could even put a transbrake in those old units.
  13. I don't think GM uses primer anymore. As far as I can tell the paint is sprayed directly on the greenish grey zinc coated steel, or whatever the coating is. They just dip these tinfoil panels in a zinc bath to prevent rot and hit them with a 0.0001" coating of paint. There is nothing you can do, Ford and Dodge use the same paint methods and also have trouble. Only thing you can do is have the truck repainted properly, preferably with oil paint if you can still find it in the US. Water based is not great.
  14. This is caused by a small rock or road debris hitting the paint. Not enough to chip it, but enough to make an impression or crack in the paint, after that happens its a matter of time before it lifts and peels. My 2010 did this and I had the whole box resprayed in 2014 under the (6 month expired) Symtech paint warranty. After that I saw the paint lifting above the windshield so I traded the truck in. My 2014 WT has peeled about 4" up from the wheel well, starts with a rock chip from the tires. You have to relentlessly touch up the paint on these trucks because it is so thin. That's why you wont see me rolling around with -44 offsets because I have been down this road and you shouldn't have to repaint a 5 year old truck. But its the name of the game now, build them cheaper and charge more. Let the owners put the elbow grease in and more profit to GM. The days of thick oil paint are dead.
  15. I don't think there is a power tailgate for the K2 or even the new T1 trucks. Do you mean the "E-Z-Lift" tailgate? That's just a torsion spring inside to make lifting and lowering easier. Tailgates that will fit your truck are years 2014-2018 1500-3500. They all are dimensionally the same.
  16. Man I feel for you guys. Install on my 2015 was a piece of cake. Just made a couple brackets that bolt on to the rad support, filed a 1/4" out of my grille where the corners of the bar meet so I could push it out as far as possible. Active shutters, really GM? We made it 100 years of Chevrolet with no "active shutters", now they are necessary? Useless crap like this drives up the cost of these things for no reason at all. I have never had a cooling problem with a 1500 series truck besides burnt water pumps. How are these thin light bars, is the output the same as a standard style?
  17. 1) Yes it will need to be dealer programed to your VIN. I cant confirm whether or not it will run long enough to drive to the dealer but it should at least run without programing. It may run but put it in limp mode. It's done through the OBDII port so you will need to have the truck and BCM both there. Maybe if you order through GM they can have it pre-programmed to your VIN? 2) Can't help you here.
  18. I'd just go with the RC's, with 136k on the clock on OEM parts you should be beyond 270k by the time you need to replace the RC's ball joints. Probably wont even have the truck at that point realistically.
  19. Few users have forked out the money for King's, but there are a handful of users here that have them. A friend of mine bought a set for his lifted 2015 but I have not ever ridden in the truck. Can't go wrong with King's if you go offroad, they are the biggest name in truck shocks. If the truck is a pavement princess they are probably a bit overkill and you wont see all the benefits as you would when using them offroad. Hopefully GrumpyBear while stop in, I believe he has a set of King's on Pepper. I don't think he's out in the dunes jumping his truck 3' in the air but he should be able to give you a good review.
  20. Could you post the Delco Part Number so that other forum users can cross-reference the Delco # with a Fram, Baldwin, Donaldson etc # if they find themselves in your position with parts unavailable at the dealer, please? EDIT: Nevermind, I see you posted PF66. I tried to cross reference it with no luck. Must be a new design.
  21. I had the negative battery issue with my K2 2500. Had the same symptoms as you more or less, told me two week wait to get it looked at. I said to them its not really safe to drive when your headlights cut out at night. So I took it into my shop and the neg cable was loose on battery and ground was a bit loose on frame so I put some grease on it and tightened it up. Was ok after that. Good luck.
  22. Most likely the exact same as the standard gate with wire harness for camera. Give it a try and let us know how to do it!
  23. It was common on the L86, which is very similar but with AFM instead of the new DFM. Both cause more problems than the fuel they help save but this is what EPA regulation has got us. Unreliable vehicles caused by unrealistic economy demands. Help save you $500 in gas before the system fails and you need $3,000 heads, nice thanks EPA. Here's and L86 thread started this morning. Makes me think anyone planning on keeping these trucks should do a AFM/DFM DOD delete. Or buy new heads from someone like TSP.
  24. warm the female thread portion of the antenna with a propane torch then loosen it before it cools down. Heat expands metal, allowing for less contact with the male threads making it easier to turn.
