Do you have keyless entry buttons on rear doors?

Push fob unlock button twice.... (Gotta have a hand available to open the handle anyway) -
The article doesn't say you can buy it for $0.025 per kw. The article says there is a meter charge and then there is a discount of $0.025 per kw.

Checked my equalizer when out today and it was still at the settings from several trips/several days ago. It's a 2021 and it has user profiles in use. Has not had another profile in use since the equalizer settings were done.

If you get the sensors, it should work -- U1D is standard on 2021 HD AT4 (and also on SLT and Denali; it can be ordered on SLE, but not on base Sierra) PTT is the order code for the 4 sensors The trailering app (U1D) can be ordered without adding the trailer sensors PTT Trailer Tire Pressure Monitor Sensors, includes set of 4 sensors. Sensor functionality requires (U1D) In-vehicle Trailering App to be ordered with the vehicle and installed by the factory. Sensors will be shipped loose with the truck and will need to be installed on trailer by customer. System is capable of monitoring up to 6 wheels. Additional or replacement sensors are available through GM Accessories U1D In-vehicle Trailering App, System, includes checklist, trailer maintenance reminders, trailer security alerts, trailer mileage, tow/haul reminder, trailer electrical diagnostics and Trailer Tire Pressure Monitor System module FWIW, the system can handle up to 6 sensors per trailer and can store sensor info for multiple trailers. Trailer sensors also transmit temperature information. GM p/n 84152501

8 speed Transmission cold slip
redwngr replied to OUTLANDER XT's topic in Troubleshooting, Warranty & Recalls
Apparently, some delay is considered normal for a 'garage shift'. There is a 'delayed engagement' test to see if it meets the 'normal' criteria. (or let it run or a few seconds after starting...) https://gm-techlink.com/?p=13727 Delayed Transmission Engagement September 30, 2020 Some 2018-2019 ATS, CTS, CT6, Corvette; 2018-2020 Express; 2018-2021 Camaro, Colorado, Silverado, Canyon, Savana, Sierra; and 2021 CT4 models equipped with the 8L45 or 8L90 8-speed automatic transmission (RPO M5T, M5N, M5U, M5X, MQD, MQE) may have a delayed engagement condition when the transmission is shifted from Park to Reverse or Park to Drive after the vehicle has been sitting with the engine off. (Fig. 12) The delayed engagement typically occurs after several hours or, more commonly, overnight. Fig. 12 The condition may seem to be delayed gear engagement, a slipping transmission, or delayed engagement followed by a harsh engagement. The transmission is designed to allow three seconds to complete a garage shift (shifting from Park to Reverse or Park to Drive). If the engine speed is increased before the transmission has engaged, the garage shift may be harsh. After the initial shift, transmission operation will be normal for the subsequent engagements. The condition will not occur again until the vehicle sits again with the engine off for several hours or overnight. Delayed Engagement Test Use GDS2 to monitor engine RPM and the transmission input speed sensor (ISS) prior to starting the engine. Start the engine with the transmission in Park and shift the vehicle from Park to Drive or Park to Reverse with the service brake applied. The ISS should drop to zero within three seconds, which is the clutch engagement time. Recording the GDS session log can be useful in diagnosing the condition. Delayed engagement of Park to Reverse or Park to Drive is present if the time difference between the gear selected (Pt. 1) and the transmission input shaft speed reaching 0 RPMs (Pt. 2) exceeds three seconds. (Fig 13) Fig. 13 In most cases, the transmission will engage in three seconds or less, which is considered an acceptable engagement time and no repairs should be attempted. TIP: The vehicle should only be evaluated after sitting for a minimum of eight hours but less than 24 hours and at an ambient temperature of 50°F (10°C) or above. If engagement time exceeds three seconds, attempt to learn the C3 – Drive and C5 Reverse – Clutch using the following steps: Allow the transmission sump temperature to rise between 20° and 30°C (68° and 86°F). Do not apply the accelerator pedal. Perform 20 Park to Reverse shifts or 20 Park to Drive shifts releasing the brake pedal with each shift, allowing the vehicle to roll 5-10 feet (1.5-3.0 m) per engagement into gear. If the learn procedure does not correct the condition, disassemble the transmission and inspect the 1-3-5-6-7 Clutch (C3) for a delay into Drive condition and inspect the 4-5-6-7-8 Reverse Clutch (C5) for a delay into Reverse condition. The respective clutch plates and seals should be inspected for wear and or damage and repaired accordingly. If the vehicle has less than 2,500 miles (4,000 km), the transmission or valve body has been replaced or a clutch repair has been performed, follow the clutch learn procedure in Bulletin #16-NA-019 to learn the C5 Reverse and C3 Drive Clutch. For additional information on a delayed transmission engagement condition, refer to Bulletin #20-NA-187. -
When going through a gearset, (transmission, differential etc) the ratio of the torque in/out is the opposite of the ratio of the speed in/out. Both are calculated by the number of teeth in the gearsets -- but are sometimes expressed as the ratio of in/out speeds instead. So, if the output speed is lower, the output torque will be higher. (in 1st gear, the output torque is higher than in second gear) If the output speed is higher (as in an overdrive gear) the output torque will be lower. Every time power goes thru a gearset, some of the power is lost (converted to heat and noise). Since gearsets don't have 'slip' the power loss is be observed as a reduction in torque. (if there is torque measuring sensors on the input and output sides of the gearset) HP out = HP in x efficiency torque out = torque in x speed ratio x efficiency speed out = speed in x gear ratio

For accurate level checks, do them in the morning before the first start, rather than at fill-ups.

Fuel Tank/ Gauge Issue
redwngr replied to cpttimerestraint's topic in Troubleshooting, Warranty & Recalls
Fuel pump thing may have been an issue when first used to replace the mechanical ones, but I don't think it is anymore (at least for GM pickups). I've been a frequent user of the 'low fuel' light for at least the last 15 years. (nope, never had to walk or send for fuel) -
LTZ or RST 6.2 with max tow payload
redwngr replied to JJ9145's topic in 2019-2026 Silverado 1500 & Sierra 1500
The only one in the chart that shows 13,300 is on the 6.2 DC 4wd with NHT (CK10753) Requires 20" wheels. When equipped with 18: wheels the rating of the CK10753 drops to 12,100. Chart ignores trim level truck weight differences. -

3.0 Duramax exhaust smell in cab
redwngr replied to IcemanNY's topic in Engines & Drivetrain (V8, Duramax, TurboMax)
If it's close to brand new, it's likely one of the first few regens burning oils off the outside of the exhaust. Each regen will smell less. If there it happens during a drive it may not be (likely won't be?) noticed at all. Otoh, there have been some trucks with exhaust leaks, which could 'smell' anytime. If you still noticing it after about 12 or 1500 miles, get it looked at. There is no message from the truck during regen, unless it has been unsuccessful completing the process after several attempts. -
2021 Trail Boss Wifi problems?
redwngr replied to harborc's topic in Troubleshooting, Warranty & Recalls
They either charge monthly for it or it's added to the cost of the truck. When they charge monthly for it we have a choice. Change was made about May 2018. -
I use the adaptive cruise regularly. (I often drive just using the buttons for +/resume, -/set and pause.) Blue shows up anytime the throttle is used to run faster the the set speed, (like when passing.) I think (but need to verify) that it will also turn blue when using pedal to drive closer to vehicle ahead than following distance is set for, even if the travel speed is below the set speed. Seems that blue means the throttle is overriding the automation.

And the story continues to change... The folks at gm-authority webite now reporting that some trucks still get DFM/AFM. https://gmauthority.com/blog/2021/03/here-are-the-2021-chevy-silverado-gmc-sierra-models-that-will-keep-afm-dfm/ Looks like the 10 speed 5.3 trucks will still have DFM, and the Custom Crew 4wd (with Custom max trailering) with the 6 speed still gets AFM Checking the order guide, it appears that( so far at least) the 6.2 still gets DFM. Trucks with AFM/DFM disabled will get RPO code "YK9 Not Equipped with Dynamic Fuel Management" . It requires different hardware. For 2021 Silverado it's Standard on LTZ and HC, optional on 1LT version of LT, RST and LTTB (where it is optional it's part of a package.) On Sierra it's standard on SLT, AT4 and Denali. Optional on SLE and the 3SB version of Elevation. Other trims it is not available. IOR is 8" and doesn't have wireless CP/AA IOS also 8" does have wireless CP/AA capability IOT 8" and adds navigation to the IOS Of course wireless phone projection also requires a phone with that capability.
