  1. ummm...I commented on the wheel size yes/no? As for your comment? I have done none of what your implying. Assumptions are usually incorrect which makes you look even more foolish. Spending decades on R-O-W's and construction...ummm..we never did anything other than stock. Heck, most were not even 4D capable and if they were nobody used it....LOL....what do I know. Keep thinking what you want and need your doing a Heck of Job!
  2. There are no benefits to a 22" whatsoever beside looks! 100% truth to that!
  3. I heard FERD makes a forever truck!
  4. I would just get the cam and lifter kit and probably rockers be done with it run it another 100K. Reason? You know it's history so nothing wrong with engine other than lifter.
  5. Just curious as to what your maintenance or scheduling of Fuel injector cleaners were? Once in awhile? Never? every 3k? etc. Thanks for the feedback sorry about the situation at hand too.
  6. Hate Black! Never Again! That is one nice looking Black truck Wow....and I hate black!
  7. Obviously, pulling port fuel injected heads would most likely reveal something that looked brand new with a few specs. This is most likely gonna happen regardless and unfortunately quicker on GDI's and has nothing to do with OCI intervals at all. Is it bad? It's not great but it's not gonna do anything for your ownership life expectancy. We all be coking.....................
  8. Grumps, This is probably spot on. Here is what is going to happen running 5W30 instead of 0W20. Your AFM will be on less and that will use a bit more fuel. It will take longer in terms of miles and time to get the AFM active as you heat up the oil and that will use a bit of fuel. The act of heating from a higher initial cold viscosity will use a bit more fuel. You will have a bit more wear cushion on hot summer days. On long hauls where you stay hot for several tanks that second and third tank will give about the same economy regardless 20 or 30 weight I will have updated data shortly @ 100k for 0W-20 on my engine. The peanut gallery will have to make up their minds, but I expect it to be Earth Shattering. Stay tuned..........
  9. 2 centistokes! Like Channel 12 to 13....LOL
  10. Struggling.....@98 something! Hopefully she makes it to 100K! Cross your fingers.............
  11. Coming up on 97K? Does it say 5.3L on engine never really looked or cared? Heck never even knew they offered other engines? V-8 is a V-8 is it not? Anyway, never put anything in other than 87 octane unleaded! What size engine is least of my worries. I am more worried about the ratio/blends of CRAP constantly going higher in concentrations on already CRAP Unleaded GAS..Oh well the catch can will catch all that crap and I will be driving the turd for 500K?
  12. Wouldn't say it's stupid? Having both available options would work? Probably 80% of people who buy 1/2 ton's never hook anything up to it. I could put my surplus Kilowatts generated from my Photovoltaic system into my truck battery instead of letting the power company pay me pennies and ultimately sell that juice for 3x the price they paid me? How good is your diesel in -25? Probably didn't start if it was sitting outside not plugged in? Batteries will be recycled most likely...maybe core charges too? @200K a motor can become if not taken care of properly something that is getting close to it's end of life cycle without major replacements/costs so slipping in a new or reconditioned battery is likely looking more plausible. I get the fact that Fleet's turn on @ 5:00am and don't stop until 6-7:00pm 6 days a week because I did it for a living and obviously a battery as the only source of mechanical movement/operation is probably not going to work. I do get that 400mile range on Crew Cab for somebody like me not towing or caring how big my tires are it will probably work just fine. I look forward to the advancements in propulsion systems no doubt!
  13. I am moving in on 100k! Major Rod knock,Lifter Tick, Oil? Sucks probably 3-4qts per change......shudders, oh yeah, had the Vibrations since 50 miles too! All in all not to shabby. Almost forgot.... The Info screen crapped out at 36,010 miles GMC told me to suck it "We ain't Payin!"
  14. hmm..I like that! You would think by 2019-2020 we would be able to have a digital readout or computer constantly reading battery voltage and algo's to when the dummy light finally comes on and you know it's probably couple more starts before DEATH! With the K-2's you get NADDA...just death!
  15. Me too! The added time if any on your new battery probably not worth the price imo.
  16. Unfortunately, where he resides buying the cheapest battery is best return on money. Even if he could get OPTIMA the added expense would still net dead battery in short order.
  17. Absolutely Normal! I live in extreme heat too. GMT 900's faired slightly better but K2's are almost exactly 12-14-16 months nothing after. Record your date when you bought LOG it and when you get to 12 months just except the fact that your going to be dead very shortly or buy new one and remove the frustration of DEAD TRUCK somewhere you don't want to be DEAD i.e. 40 miles away from nearest town no tools etc?
  18. Enough of the nonsense TXGREEK ok? You can eat Carrots and green beans your whole life and die from cancer at a young age...OK? AMSOIL is fine so is Mobil,Valvoline etc.etc. You can have lifter failures with AMSOIL so relax
  19. Hey Grumps? I noticed you did put Amsoil into your Rear Differential @ 100K. I do believe I lost couple tenths on MPG's when I converted mine over but I did up the capacity by 2qts so maybe that dinged me too? The gear oil is different grade than OEM but is 100% better imo I am super impressed with AMS gear oils!
  20. Very true! I get excited on well just about any beat up OL' Truck honestly. Cars really don't do anything for me except this one....not sure why this car just pulls you in? But it does without question.
  21. Rare indeed but not impossible as robots, machinery materials etc. have their moments. I am fairly certain that the L84's L87's have gone away with the stamped portion and now looks to be full cast.
  22. Sounds pretty good! No lifter failure? No vacuum pump failure? So pretty much the weak link on K2's is the AC system. Typical GM fashion Solid Engine/Trans!
  23. Thanks Gentlemen! I will have to do this nonsense here shortly. Hope the Job does not suck too bad?
  24. I am patiently waiting for my AFM to fail @ 94K? Anybody,anybody.....I will report back when it does.
