  1. Dealership agreed mine has the issue last Wednesday and is ordering the parts to do the "fix". I'm in the system.
  2. Question for everyone - My truck has this issue too. Is anyone aware of long term damage from this? Wondering if it's a slight rub or actually chipping/wearing away/destroying something in the diff? I'm willing to take a longer term view and make sure GM is aware of my issue but if worse comes to worse in a few years I'll swap the diff out with a junk yard unit myself. I love the truck otherwise.
  3. It’d be in your file no matter what. the RPO codes just represent what the vehicle was built with. They don’t change after that but might mean nothing 20 years down the road.
  4. The axle has nothing to do with your VIN. The VIN tells a few things about configuration (nothing about axles) and where the vehicle was built by who.
  5. What he said. You’re looking at custom made wheels or the WT package steel wheels painted white.
  6. Lots of guys on here have added blocks to them. Seems to work fine. I plan on doing it with mine.
  7. Currently dogless but hard to beat a dog in a truck.
  8. Pics of said pooch in action.
  9. They’d work. Your speedo would register fast though.
  10. https://www.amazon.com/JDM-ASTAR-Extremely-Bright-Reverse/dp/B00MUF1APW I’ve had good luck with this brand’s LED reverse lights. I just wish they were bigger like the 3047’s in my 2011. Those put out more light just due to being physically larger.
  11. I agree. That bypass hose sitting down there like that would make me nervous.
  12. I would bet physically they would bolt up. It would make financial sense for GM to have as much commonality as possible other than the actually physically different parts.
  13. Remember back in the day factory exhausts were narrow, crimp bent, and not always stainless. Cat backs improved all of that. Now? Not so much. I plan on replacing muffler and eliminating the flapper and that’s it.
  14. No reason you can’t. Blocks will go under them and standard rear springs will bolt in place of them.
  15. Z71. I just can’t comprehend not having 4lo in a 4x4 truck.
  16. Yes and it will help correct what you are describing.
  17. Tell us how you really feel.
  18. What's your beef with handicapped folks?
  19. I've had a set of the Tygers since last Fall. Drug them both on a ledge and landed on the driver's side once through sheer stupidity while crossing curbs and general fooling around in the urban landscape. Scratched up the paint and had to clean that up but they survived just fine. No dents or damage that I could find. I do have one weld at the top of one where rust keeps seeping out but I think it's just a welding pit that I need to seal up.
  20. Modern cats are pretty high flow. Not much to be gained any more.
  21. Ooooh...rear 5160’s...
  22. They use a completely different front axle so maybe not an issue?
  23. Not sure what makes that ghetto fab.
  24. Your VIN never changes. It's assigned to the vehicle as it is built and designates certain things about it as it was built and where it was built. That never changes, even if your parts are changed. Axles are not represented in the VIN.
