  1. Hey all I just traded in my truck and have both the Range Pulsar LT and the obdii plug in for sale. Sold. Pulsar LT $350 Afm/Dfm disabler $125
  2. Just traded my truck and have one of these for sale
  3. Are yours power fold, heated, and task lights? I have an LTZ with the smaller mirrors which are power fold, heated, and task lights. Where are you located? Did you find out if the wiring harness will be a clean swap?
  4. I have considered dropping the profiles. My radio takes too long to load. If you do this will the seats still adjust to each key? If my wife drives the truck she is much shorter so having the key settings is nice. But if it solves loading screen issues it may be worth it.
  5. Ahh ok I thought there was some new cool thing that went in there which I needed to spend money on. It would be cool to put some lights or something in there.
  6. Just about any aftermarket exhaust is going to pop its part of the sound people normally want. The stock exhaust will quiet that down. I've had Flowmasters in the past and currently have the Borla S type and they all do it. There is no "fix" for it other than stock exhaust.
  7. I am interested to know why you did this and what you put in place of it.
  8. I have this same issue but I never plug my phone in with CarPlay I always use bluetooth and I get this repeatedly. I have had the dealer update me to the 808 version and it still does it. I just have found if I turn the truck on and sit for 2 mins for everything to load it has less of a chance to reboot.
  9. I had that same issue on my 2019 LTZ. It stopped doing it after a couple weeks. Check to see if there are any updates.
  10. I was having issues with my infotainment so I took it to the dealer for repair and they installed v808. I am not sure how well it works just yet but as you said it was only available via dealer.
  11. I find shifting to me rougher all around. as far as plugging it in. I never take it out. The obdii port cuts power. I have left it in for weeks with no issue.
  12. I noticed about 1 mpg or so loss on the highway. Much more around town but thats due to my right foot and wanting to hear my exhaust.
  13. That is strange. I have had mine plugged in for about 3 months straight and my on star diagnostics come through just fine.
  14. Good to know. This was my fear from the beginning that the DFM engines would see lifter failures like the AFM engines. For me if the Range helps cut down on lifter failures its cheap insurance.
  15. Does your truck have AFM or DFM? I know some 2019s still have AFM
  16. There are plenty of threads on this but for me I paid for a V8 and I want a V8. Besides the fact that AFM was plagued with lifter failures and oil consumption issues. The people who had their engine in V8 all the time has much less of this happen. For me the little bit of fuel savings won’t even out $$$ wise for repair costs. Granted it’s under warranty for repairs. But like I said before I paid for a V8 and want a V8 not some other number of cylinders.
  17. I beta tested and I love it. I will continue to use it. I recommend the buy if you want to have it in V8 and stop auto/stop start. I only take mine out when going to the dealer for service and then plug it right back in. I had no real issues to speak of though you will feel a more rough transmission shift. At least i did with my 8 sp trans. No CEL or any other issues. I never had to send my unit back for any updates. Worked from day 1 of beta testing the whole way through. I did notice a slight drop in MPG by about 2 mpg but that is because I was having fun in V8. When on the highway I was only about .2-.5 mpg less on normal highway trips. So really not that bad.
  18. I was hoping for this too. I wanted to add my own. I am not sure why in this day and age Chevy thought it was a good idea to not include that.
  19. I have spoken to Range about this transmission surge and this is their answer. These new transmissions have an aggressive PWM (Pulse Width Modulation) torque converter that is designed so you don’t fell the firm LOCK like you used to when the Torque converter locks. It gradually locks it but when it does the truck will have a slight shudder. If it happens around 45+ MPH or so.
  20. I am not sure the exact weight you would consider serious towing but I have towed many times with the beta unit up to 6000 lbs. I honestly can't say I feel much difference towing when pulling. When towing and cruising the DFM may kick in without the range but I can not say 100%. I have not had issues either way.
  21. For me there is always a cause for concern for premature wear or failure when shutting down cylinders. $300 would be cheap insurance to keep the engine working in V8 all the time. No one really knows yet if these will cause failures like the AFM but i'm not going to trust that GM has 100% fixed the issue. For me I would rather spend $300 and have a full time V8 and hear that sound. The nice thing about the range is if I choose to worry about MPG I can just pull it off and its back to normal. Now on a note that would agree with you GM did test this engine with a combined 7 million miles (correct me if i'm wrong) and did not have issues with DFM like there were on AFM. So that is a positive note that would agree with your statement.
  22. I have noticed that when breaking on a downhill my 8 speed trans will downshift more with the range. I am thinking the computer is going harder on engine breaking and trans downshift to slow the truck.
  23. I do feel a difference using the range beta unit but its not over the top. While cruising the truck has more pep since there is no lag from the DFM, but its slight. For me the range is important so I don't have cylinders shutting off and on. It's been shown with AFM that it causes poor lubrication and causes lifter failure. I fear the same will prove to be true with DFM. I am using the range since I want to avoid any possible future failures and extra cylinder wear. GM is concerned with fuel mileage but I am concerned with wear and engine failure as I plan to keep this truck for many years. When all 8 cylinders are being used and properly oiled I feel there will be less chance for failure. For when you spend $50k+ on a truck with a V8 another $300 or so is cheap insurance to keep it in V8 and lessen the opportunity for pre mature wear and possible failure. Thats just my opinion. The biggest thing I notice is that I can hear a difference in my exhaust note for sure it sounds much better with he range. I like the V8 sound and the range gives that to me full time. Plus the range stops the auto stop/start without having to hit the button each time I get in the truck. That saves me maybe 1 second of my life but its still nice to have the range take care of that for me.
  24. Well this hit me today. Driving on a dirt road about 56*F dry conditions. Switched from auto to 2H just before I hit pavement again and got the service 4wd and the orange light for the indicator. Drove home about 5 miles parks and waited for about 5 mins. I restarted and it’s all still there. I take mine to the dealer tomorrow for warranty work on it. I hope it’s a fast fix but these posts don’t seem good.
