What have you done to your AWESOME AT4!.....

Staying with stock 275/65/18 Duratrac Wranglers for now - will got to larger tires when those are toast. -
What is the 6.2 engine getting in MPG
Supercup replied to nick mcintire's topic in 2019-2026 Silverado 1500 & Sierra 1500
My 2019 AT4 with 1.5" Ready Lift level kit - 9,200 +/- miles 14.5 overall. Best tank was 20.1 and worst was 6.6 towing 8k enclosed trailer in the wind. Just traded it in for a 2020 AT4 with trailer mirrors - 13.3 for first 1,100 miles - but other 300 miles of towing in that. It will get better, if I get back to 14.5 average I would be happy. Planning a 2.5" BDS lift (4.5" overall), so may lose some mileage from that, but will improve ride and offroad handling a lot with Fox 2.5's DSC shocks in front and 2.0's in back. -
Lets talk 4WD lifts! (6 inch and up)
Supercup replied to WhineyTTwins's topic in Modifications, Wheels & Tires
With BDS stock 18" wheels will not fit due to wheel offset, not 18" size. I have 2020 AT4 with BDS 2.5" (which is 4.5" for regular truck) with Fox 2.5's in front with DSC and 2.0 in the back. I have 18" x 9" Method NV wheels which are 12mm offset (stock are 36mm if I recall correctly) and they work fine. Leveled the front (up about 2.5") and is about 1/2" higher than stock in the rear. It rides significantly better than stock and has real off road capability. The fox shocks are awesome. The stock suspension was fine for the street - but 5 mph or less off road with any sort of bumps. My buddy has the BDS 4" lift on his AT4 (6" for regular height trucks) with same set up (only difference is the his shocks are longer and the block size in the back) and he has same ride quality and even more off road capability with added clearance. He has 20" wheels on his. My mileage was not impacted with the switch, as I stayed similar height. His mileage is down about 1-2 mpg across the board. From stock I would expect to lose 2-3 mpg going to 6" kit. Hope you find the right set up for you. -
Help w/ Denali vs AT4
Supercup replied to Nightfly's topic in 2019-2026 Silverado 1500 & Sierra 1500
Over 9,200 miles of all types of driving I have averaged 14.5 mpg - I would estimate 30% hwy, 60% city and 10% towing (8,000 lb enclsed trailer). Best was 20 +/- and worst was 6.6 towing in the wind. On highway I drive quick and I am not shy on throttle use - so may be on mid to lower side of others experience. I have the GM OEM performance package (exhause, airbox and tune) that adds 15 hp, and it sounds great on start up and under acceleration - love having a V8 - that is why I did not buy the new Raptor - not a fan of sound of Eco Boost motor. -
Help w/ Denali vs AT4
Supercup replied to Nightfly's topic in 2019-2026 Silverado 1500 & Sierra 1500
I have an AT4 - ride quality is very good - but ARC on Denali is next level - so even better - AT4 is a exterior look, Denali is more of a luxury truck - so you have to decide look versus luxury. Some like the look of the Denali better and the luxury is a bonus. For me I like the offroad and blacked out look - so AT4 was only GMC I considered - I have a 6.2L 10 speeed and love the truck - It is not an "offroad" truck (like my old Raptor) and you give up some mileage with the 2" of ride height increase over a Denali. I liked the look overall and it is a great all around truck - I am not a fan of the Denali look - so AT4 was right for me. I would go drive both before you decide. nice trucks either way! -
Here is my 2019 with same Ready Lift SST kit. Also some photos of clearance of stock 275/75/18's on on Method NV's which are a 12mm offset versus 26mm for stock. So 285's would be very tight with RL UCA - but there is more room with stock UCA's

I just traded a 2019 AT4 Carbon Pro that was leased - 12 months into a 36 month Lease - dealer took the truck back - leased a new 2020 Carbon Pro - lease interest rates for 2020's are way down from my 2019 (1.6% vs 5.4%) - so my pmt went down by $30 per month - went from 9k miles to 3 - exact same options on both truck - except 2020 had trailer tow mirrors. So I was able to swap out, cost me $1,100 in drive off's but $732 of that was first lease payment - so I got new truck with tow mirrors I wanted for $368. Maybe you can find similar deal on new lease - avoid all the buyback head aches! I would ask your dealer to put you directly in touch with their regional rep with GM - they will be able to address your situation more quickly - if they can find a way to make you happy and put you into another GM car or truck - they will be motivated to make you happy. If you are done with GM - lemon law by back process will be your only option. Good luck finding a good, quick resolution!

2020 Towing Mirrors to Standard Mirrors
Supercup replied to ArTurf's topic in Modifications, Wheels & Tires
I went the other way - looked into adding tow mirrors to my 2019 AT4 Carbon pro - ended up finding a 2020 AT4 Carbon Pro with fully loaded like mine, with tow mirrors - so I traded in 2019 and took the 2020. Love the tow mirrors for towing and the side view camera, which I could not get on my 2019 with standard mirrors. I also could not add the tranparent view camera on the 2019 - it had the 15 cameras, but not the icons or the plugs for the added cameras. 2020 has it all. For everyday driving I noticed right away the tow mirrors have far superior rear vision - but if you are looking forward and turning right or left, they are big squares and create quite a blind spot! Overall I am very happy as my truck now meets all my needs, but there are a few trade offs - like the blind spots and I think the standard mirrors just look better on the truck. My 2019 was leased - so dealer took it in trade and did new lease on 2020 - rates are down - so payment went down $30 a month. After factoring in payment savings, lost level kit and drive offs it only cost me $650 +/- and I only gave up Ready Lift SST level kit, which did not allow me to use 4WD auto, so I wasn't sorry about that. Went from 9,000 miles to 3, all in all a good swap. I would not fool around with trying to swap mirrors, I spent a month researching and talking to dealers and it will always be a half measure fix, and it was not going to be cheap! Hope you can swap out the truck and get what you want! -

Time to start again - traded the 2019 for a 2020 AT4 Carbon Pro - to get trailer tow mirros and see through trailer camera system. My 2019 had the 15 cameras, but the 19's did not have the "see thru" camera option to add. Found a 2020 - exact same options as my 2019 ( fully loaded including performance package) and it had the trailer tow mirrors. The are great for seeing behind you, but do create quite a blind spot if turning left or right and looking out as you can't see over the mirror, like you can on the lower profile stock mirrors on the 19. Just swapped the Methods from the 19 to the 20. The 19 had the Ready lift SST level kit and UCA-'s - for the 20 I just ordered the BDS 2.5" DSC coilover system - doing the lift right this time. So now I have the truck I want everyday, that better meets my towing needs! Could not be happier. -
BDS 2.5” Coilover Trailboss/AT4
Supercup replied to Trailboss75's topic in Modifications, Wheels & Tires
Did the Ready Lift 2" SST level kit on my 2019 AT4 Carbon Pro - lost use of "auto 4WD" as RL does not recommend use. I just traded it for a 2020 AT4 Carbon Pro to get trailer tow mirros and new trailer tow camera tech - as I tow fairly often. Going with BDS 2.5" kit with Fox 2.5 DSC coilovers - figured might as well do it right this time! Looking forward to the upgrade - hope to have it install in a few weeks! link: https://bds-suspension.com/kit-customizer?kid=754F -
First thing would do is add a weight distribution hitch for your travel trailer - will eliminate most of the rear drop and be a safer tow set up tranfering the tongue weight back to your front wheels. I have thie set up for my enclosed trailer which is 4,350 empy and pending load will be 7,300 or 9,500 lbs. Droop without it was 2.5" - now with proper adjustment it is about an inch. Air bags make for better ride - keeping rear from harsh bounes off the bump stop - but do nothing for tranfering tongue weight from hitch to the front wheels of the truck. I would also recommend a sway control for anything heavier that 7,000 lbs and longer than 20'. When things go wrong the the tail wags the dog and both weight distribution and sway control will help you keep the upper hand. I have husky weight dist hitch. link: https://www.amazon.com/Husky-31425-Weight-Distribution-Assembly/dp/B0085IHWF0/ref=sr_1_6?dchild=1&keywords=Towing+Weight+Distributing+Hitches+1%2C400+lbs&qid=1598316429&s=automotive&sr=1-6 Sway Control Link: https://www.amazon.com/Husky-34715-Handed-Adjustable-Control/dp/B004RCT0LM/ref=pd_bxgy_img_3/145-5324336-5112768?_encoding=UTF8&pd_rd_i=B004RCT0LM&pd_rd_r=45138ec8-39e1-49b1-964c-4a5efbfcea95&pd_rd_w=3aNy8&pd_rd_wg=59lSx&pf_rd_p=ce6c479b-ef53-49a6-845b-bbbf35c28dd3&pf_rd_r=Q3S4JQCAX0FBXDQJZE1P&psc=1&refRID=Q3S4JQCAX0FBXDQJZE1P Here is an intersting video that will give you a clear picture of how weight distribution vs air bags impact your truck. Would you rebuy 2019/2020 GM truck?
Supercup replied to RE1's topic in 2019-2026 Silverado 1500 & Sierra 1500
I would and in fact just did! I had a 2019 GMC Carbon Pro - photo attached. I stareted to tow more often and found the camera system did not have the trailer see though and the mirrors while great for everyday work, did not allow great vision around an enclosed trailer. I found a 2020 Carbon Pro with tow mirrors and the updated camera tech and traded the 2019 for the 2020 last week. Trucks have exact same options - except the mirrors and the 2020 tech for the cameras. I swapped out the Method wheels to new truck - but left Ready Lift SST level kit on 2019 (so that was $1,000 spent) Went from 8,600 miles to 3 - both are leased - dealer took my old lease, gave me new lease - 3 yr/36k - interest rates are down - so pmt was $20 less per month - drive off's were $1,108 of which $730 was my first lease payment - so cost me $1362 (drive off's plus RL SST kit on 2019) to get a new truck, with mirrors I needed and will get $720 of those dollars back in pmt. savings, so essentially new truck for $642. Sometimes you just luck out! -
Owners Pictures of 35" Tires on Stock AT4 or Trail Boss
Supercup replied to rikhek's topic in Modifications, Wheels & Tires
I would think with a 6mm spacer it would clear, based on above it would appear with 6mm you would achieve similar clearance to what I have. I don't see any other area that is an issue - just clearing the buldge in the brake caliper up front. Hope it works out for you. -

Owners Pictures of 35" Tires on Stock AT4 or Trail Boss
Supercup replied to rikhek's topic in Modifications, Wheels & Tires
Ok - I just had the wheels put on the 2020 - stock suspension (no ready lift sst lift and UCA's like my 2019). Here are 4 photos of clearance of method wheels. I will follow with post of label from wheel box for exact wheel information. As you can see there is plenty of clearance of the front caliper to the outer edge. The third photo shows a close up of the "buldge" in the brake caliper which does clear the spokes - but it is tight. I was surprised at how close - maybe 2 mm - 3mm of clearance - rotated the wheel - no scraping - so as Weld says it clears and works - this is probably the absolute minimum spacing I would be comfortable with. In the fourth picture it is a little hard to see, but you can see the hub and how the wheel "cone's in to attache to the hub to create clearance. Hope this helps you. -

Supercup replied to rikhek's topic in Modifications, Wheels & Tires
I have not measured the clearance - but there was no issue on clearnce with stock calipers when they went on - I had 8,650 miles on them and no issues when they came off last night. Last night I traded my 2019 for a 2020 - to get trailer tow mirrors and transparent trailer camera set up. Otherwise exact same truck. I took the methods off yesterday and am having them put on the 2020 today (tire swap with stock wheels). I will look when they go on this morning and see if I can get an idea of clearances. One thing I noted when the stock wheels went back on last night with the Ready Lift SST kit is, the clearnace of the RL UCA was very close - that 0.312" of added offset over stock wheels really makes a difference! the last photo with the tape measure is with the Methods, other two are with stock wheels. -

One thing you can do - if you run the 4" lift vs the 2.5" is you can set the springs a 0 preload - which will reduce the height of the lift to closer to the 2.5" lift and you get the benefit of the longer shocks and added travel, but don't give up some of the gas mileage of lift - I figure you lose 2 mpg for every 2" of lift - tires seem to impact over 35" more than below - the lift of the truck putting it up in the air is the biggest impact on mpg. I also have a 6.2 - have 8,000 miles on my truck - 14.5 mpg average since day 1 - just did at 1,200 mile road trip - got 16.4, no trailer - so not bad. with trailer at 55-65 get 10-12 mpg - over 65 mpg plumments fast.

BDS is one of the best options - I would get the adjustable coilovers in the front for more ride refinement flexibility (soft for street and firm for off road). Fox may have a piggyback coilover availabe for the rear, which would be an upgrade from the 2.0 in the current kit offering. BDS has been working on adding a 2.5" for the rear but don't have it up yet. My AT4 was 38" high in front stock - went to 40" with RL SST 2" level kit. My buddy has 4" BDS on his - he is at 42" - so full 6" from stock truck and 4" higher in front from what you have stock. I plan to get BDS lift once the 2.5" rear comes out. If you have stock 18's they won't work with BDS kit per BDS- Factory 17-18" wheels cannot be reinstalled due to tie rod end interference, stock 20" wheels can be reinstalled Link BDS: https://bds-suspension.com/product?ma=5&mo=1&ty=113&yr=2019-2020 Per BDS - here is what will tire will fit with 4" coilover lift kit - *Trimming may be required* Tire & Wheel Combinations 37x12.50 w/20x9/22x9 and 5.5-6.25" back spacing 35x12.50 w/20x9/22x9 and 5.5-6.25" back spacing 35x12.50 w/17x9/18x9/20x9 and 4.5" back spacing

2019 AT4 - 6.2 Carbon Pro Before and after photos below - similar measurements to you - I have OEM painted strips where yours are rubber - but about the same specs. Ready Lift SST - I was 38 before and 40" after up front and back 40" before and 41" after with new rear block added.
-
This is trailer empty 4,500 lbs - 900 lbs tongue weight - 2.5" of squat - added load level hitch (1400 lb bars) and with it I got back about 1.5" of the squat - so only about 1" of squat with load level. Will likely add a Deaver overload spring pack soon as well to help carry the load. Fully loaded will be 9,500 lbs +/- but tongue weight will not go up much and may go down a bit with moving the car around.

You make a good point - - was not aware of stock back spacing - but that being said if stock back spacing is 5.77" - then it should be a 38MM offset (8.5" wheels - -5.77" - 4.5" center = 1.52" or 38MM of offset)? Also the methods are 1/2" wider than stock in this discussion (9" vs 8.5") - so the section width of the tire measured of 11" is on an 8" wheel - and on a 9" wheel you will pick up 0.2" to 0.4" of section width - so you have to take that into account as well. End of the day only way to know for sure is to try them! -

Your math is correct - spacing measure in the photo is with Method NV 18" x 9" which are 18mm offset - the stock wheels are 26mm offset - so the Method wheels are giving me 6mm or 0.312" of added clearance (moving the wheel center away from the UCA). Backspacing is 5.75" Stock Wheel spec 275/65R18 113Q 8.5Jx18 ET26 6x139.7 Method Link: https://www.methodracewheels.com/products/nv-black?variant=349582491 - Part number MR 305 890605 18 - drop down menu of choices Link wheel offset: https://www.lesschwab.com/article/what-is-wheel-offset.html -

Here is my 2019 AT4 with RL SST 2" level kit and RL UCA - photos of clearance - with 275/65/18 Goodyear Duratrac's - about 5/8" clearance remains. I would say you lose at least a 1/4" and more likely closer to a 1/2" of clearance with RL UCA vs stock - but you get better geometry angles - that is the trade off. I could fit 285/65 - but 295/65 would be really close.
