  1. if buying a radiator, get the 6.2L or the tow package option radiator, the 5.3 radiator sucks if you have power adders and a tune w/PE activated, it will overheat, because its made for 300hp V6.. it has no business in these 5.3 trucks if you tow or drive like an adrenaline junkie and a katec 175 stat. dont use the 160 stat. unless your boosted ask your tuner to bring the fans to the 195 degrees on setting.. i've ran this set up in canada in winter, no issues.
  2. trying to hurt my brain with all this over-thinking... : )
  3. i had the same issue, and bought the 3/4" blocks for $50 that go under the coil-over shock. problem solved, truck sits nice and level now
  4. yes, but no...lol 0w-20 is to reduce friction and meet emmissions reqs for the feds. have to take into account, as the oil is loosing its polymer thickening due to wear and tear, and lack of proper oil changes. utilizing the trucks extremly long OCI measurement system while running 0w-20 will have far more destructive results, than say a cheap 5w-30 on a healthy diet of 3000-4000 mile OCI
  5. take a poll of those who have the most engine failure using either 0w-20 watered down oil or 5-30 or 10-30 oil
  6. i would recommend NOT going WOT from off idle or cruise condition while the V4 mode is active or while in Drive grear. high engine loading and switching from v4 to v8, pressure fluctuations in the oil circuit of the lifters may cause damage. shift to 5th gear to disable v4 mode , then you can drive like a nut without damaging the lifters
  7. heres a tip... find a flat road get a glass of water in the cup holder, get up to speed where vibration begin. watch and see what direction the water is sloshed in the glass. Odds are if it shakes left and right , the converter is out of balance. I have no idea what would cause a forward and aft shake as the driveline over the center consol runs north and south along the centerline of the truck. odds are if tires are out of balance you wont feel any of this due to the dampening and suspention travel , you will notice heavy wear on the tires, but wont feel wheel vibes
  8. have them activate Power enrichment at about 60% throttle, and definitly disable tcc for 1-3rd gear. highly advisable to install 175 engine thermostat with power upgrades and run 91 octane.
  9. yeah the 2500's with 6.0 motors are the best platforms to tune on. go for it, pull the f***'n trigger! check the build section on here you might find some other ideas
  10. https://worldtruthvideos.website/watch/life-of-a-strong-single-mother_PsfdXjvwEJ71i8U.html
  11. what data have you acquired on the cooling system? GM has to meet emmissions requirements, doing so means the engine needs to operate at very high temps, which reduces reliability
  12. if all Americans would keep thier cars maintained , drive the speed limit and own them for atleast 200,000 miles this would drastically help the enviroment. i don't know what the validity is of his source for data where he makes his claims. not sure he's correct
  13. Hydrogen and fuel cells is the future!!! it retains the current petroleum infrastructure , and meets the green zero emmissions goals. Lithium battery tech just doesn't have what it takes to replace ICE vehicles if Rivian had thier ****** together they would drop all battery tech and convert to the fuelcell system
  14. has anyone done a compression check, and a leak down testing on all cylinders yet? that's alot of power in that motor for it's size, which means a lot of energy is dispersed across 4 cylinders.. your piston rings are getting cooked to death and most likely your oil is varnishing in the rings ..i would recommend 3000 OCI and get the coolant temps down to 170-180, i'm sure GM has an oil cooler on these model, I would install an auxillary fan on the oil cooler to knock down your oil temps to minimized sludge and varnish in the hot spots. you could try running 1 quart of ATF at idle in the truck for about 30 minutes prior to oil drain
  15. i order the ACdelco tpms off Amazon, just filter the search by your vehicle and year
  16. in the picture, one injector tip looked wet, and the other looked white ashy on the tip.
  17. Sorry , to each thier own..... yeah not sure how your gonna fit 6 bolts on that without changing the look
  18. can you operate the truck without it going into DoD mode, so it operates on all 8 cylinders all the time.? usually manually shifting into a gear below final overdrive will disable this, and might avoide engine issues with the DoD crap
  19. why would i want ugly IROC wheel, they belong on ugly Camaros from the 90's...lol been in the ghetto too long my friend.
  20. otherwise you'll need to get 440 volts 100 amp lines installed into your house, imagine the whole family has these, every house on the block, everyones charging at the same time. ridiculous system. we're gonna need that Russian Uranium and more nuke plants to keep up with this..
  21. i think there are more LS truck tuners in AZ,NV, TX, and FL.. yeah best to stay close to home for adjustments and upgrades, I would look for COrvette and Camaro SS tuners
  22. too bad gas is so high , takes all the fun out of tuning
  23. might help if you post a scan file of the datalog run when you ask those guys
  24. there are real professional shops around the country which will require you ship the truck to them do have it installed and tuned to a high level of professional skill. many guys can be found at hptuner forum, or call whipple dealer and ask who they recommend nearby
