  1. Yep, the coilovers themselves ride extremely well. Haven't hit the beaches or trails yet though. Have about 200 miles between city and highway. The holes I use to hit aren't even felt anymore lol. I was in the exact same boat, didn't want to spend the extra 400-800 when I plan on doing long travel later and replacing them with $2200 coilovers. I had a terrible install experience though. Did the prescribed preload at 225mm(one mm of max) and was sitting at like 6.5 inches of lift. Had to back them off THIRTEEN turns and remove both black packers (3 hours turned into 3 days of trial and error) that sit on the bump stop. The spring perch is pretty much on the last set of threads, might be one or two turns left. Now I'm sitting at 41.25" on my front fenders with 265/65/r18 at 35 psi, which is like 3.75" lift. No other spring compressor will work except for the Branick 7600 which I bought (again I'm doing LT and rear trailing arms eventually so I'd be buying this eventually). That machine has paid for itself multiple times over from these coilovers, shops charge $120-200 to build struts and coilovers. The main spring is a narrow diameter and not a ton of space between coils for compression fingers to fit in. Also it's 850lbs and you have to compress the helper spring with a strong arm (at the time my ruck palsy made it impossible) or a well placed floor jack so you can torque the strut mount nut to 37ft/lbs. The nut is also short so I threw a second lock nut on top for safety. Quality is amazing, got them on sale like $650, nothing else has the same features for the price. The R and D need to revise either the instructions or something, idk. I'm not the brightest, but I can follow instructions to a t. Next week I'll have 35's, for now I'll attach some recent photos with the stock 31.5's (265/65/r18). My rear end sits .75" lower for some reason. The blocks I put in are 3" so idk. 2020 Silverado 1500 Z71 LM2
  2. What is everyone running for speedometer calibration? Rough Country ($260), hypertech, and Pulsar LT ($550) seem like the only options. Dealerships said they can't program for me. Right now I'm holding out for a tuner from RunVSE. 2020 1500 Silverado LM2 Z71
  3. I'm going to be mounting one of those 10.6cfm twin piston air compressors (maxi trac, morrflate, stop n go, thor) inside my cab for onboard air. My question is can I ground it to the body, should I run a bulk head and wire to the frame, or run it with the positive back to the bay and ground out on the frame there? It has a 90Amp peak draw and I'll be running 6 AWG wire, it will be fused and run through a switch box to a 200a relay. I know in the past people will ground winches to the frame or body, but with all the computer stuff going on I've got this concern on the back of my head. 2020 1500 Silverado LM2
  4. More side wall will act as a secondary dampener. IMO 17's look better.
  5. I'm not sure, the guy hasn't responded back on the other forum. Usually lockers entail replacing the whole carrier anyways. Or do you mean the gears are welded on? That'd be insane, pop your cover open and let us know.
  6. Bump Anyone install a bypass filter yet?
  7. I can only find the Mobil 1 ESP from googling. For the price I'll probably just keep using the AC Delco and Amsoil. Has anyone hooked up a 5 micron bypass oil filter yet? In an email (to me) from amsoil they have no intentions ATM to make a vehicle specific kit for the 3.0 Duramax.
  8. Idk if this is applicable to everyone else, but I thought only amsoil and acdelco had dexosd light duty Diesel motor oil. There's a whole list of them here. What's everyones thoughts? https://www.gmdexos.com/brands/dexosd/index.html
  9. This year should yield some tunes and performance parts from bigger companies (Banks) and the northern brothers are working on deletes and more in depth tunes. I bought my 2020 with 48k miles. Currently have 53k. No plans of ever getting rid of it. Towed a 3k pop up camper 1600 miles and averaged 24mpg.
  10. I second this. The OBDLINK MX+ allowed for OEM functions. If you have a diesel you can even monitor and force regens.
  11. The 3.0 and 6.2 sit about .5" low because of weight from most lifts and factory suspension. You can always add a 3/8" strut spacers on top though to net a true 2".
  12. Some guy on the Duramax forum reached out to Auburn gears. Sounds like they're making one for the 1500/2500/3500's. Limited slip and e-locker. Dunno the eta
  13. BDS' is also releasing a coilover conversion for the rear end under project Velocity this year. Lot of room for lift.
  14. Cognito has a Deaver pack add on that can gain 1-3". The bonus is it makes your leaf spring a progressive rate (replaces the overload leaf) and better ride. Add a leaf usually makes for a more harsh experience unless under load. It's $500. Cheaper than new leafs but probably more reliable than a taller block or a stiffer add a leaf.
  15. I wonder if they can be adjusted for more lift safely.
  16. But you're saying there was more height to be had from them? Compared to the non TB version 5100? I've got the 3.0 Duramax and need 4" of lift to sit at 3.5" due to engine weight. I'm pretty good at replacing CV's after owning an H3...
  17. I wonder if a 1" preload spacer fits the Bilsteins.
  18. Can anyone confirm if the TB versions would raise a non TB z71 3.1"? Also has anyone used a preload spacer to net any additional lift? Front AT4/Trail Boss - B8 5100 Series 0-1.1″ Ride Height Adj Front (24-309509)
  19. I like hot shot winter formula for northern climates. Did me well with the winter storm we had in December.
  20. Just going to leave this snip it here from a BDS installation guide on ride heights. In case anyone come here looking for answers.
  21. I'm thinking I'll set my coilovers to a 4" lift prior to install so I still net a true 3.5" then. I feel like this should be talked about more lol.
  22. I've noticed lift kits frequently show up to half an inch lower on advertised lifts for the 3.0 diesel and 6.2. Has anyone else experienced this? I'm pretty sure my stock Z71 3.0 sits about a 1/2" lower than the other engine options. Installing adjustable coilovers (and UCAs) this weekend hopefully. BDS' states the following for their UCA install instructions on line 15 "Set the ride height from the fender lip to the center of the hub at 24-1/2” (2” Kits), 25-3/4” (3.5” Kits)" Theoretically I should be able to use these numbers to confirm a true lift 3.5" height, correct? I'm currently sitting at 21.75" after 52k Miles.
  23. I'm most excited about the rear trailing arm conversion kit! It's about time the 2019+ platform got a kit like this. Gonna be a lot more full size Chevys on the trails.
  24. Just gonna leave this here... https://blog.bds-suspension.com/?p=27372#comment-724578
  25. Keep us posted! I've got 50k I'd love to clean mine up until I can delete and tune.
