My wife and I have been looking at dogs at shelters for quite a while now and going back and forth as to what kind of dog to get.

She wanted a dog about the size of my foot, I wanted a dog that would look me in the eye. After discussing breeds, locations, and weights, we finally found a dog both of us love.

She just texted me this picture of him sitting next to her in the truck on their way back home. So far it's the only one I've got, but I'll post more after I get home and get to play with him tonight.

His name is Bond, he's a Shepherd mix, they think he's got some hound or lab in him. He's around a year or 2 old, and weighs about 45-50 lbs.

She said he's loving the truck ride and hasn't gotten too excited and distracted her. Which is a good thing because she doesn't drive the General very often.

Congrats, looks like a nice dog! We babysat my brothers lab for 3 weeks. Now we want a dog too. I just have to wait until the cat dies. The two did not get along...AT ALL!!!

Get the dog and let them fight it out. Problem solved.

Well he made it through the night with no problems! He was pretty worked up and confused most of the day, It's been a long time since he's had this kind of attention so he's trying to adjust and make sure we're not going to leave him. But we played in the back yard for about an hour, then took him for a lap around the block.

Here's a couple more pictures of him.

He found himself in the mirror and decide to challenge his reflection for dominance of the house.

Um, you may want to consider rephrasing that.

He'll stare at himself perfectly still for a few seconds, then jump back and stop again. Then I guess he's trying to be sneaky because he gets down and crawls to the edge of the mirror and looks behind it to see the dog. Then when it isn't there he jumps back in front of the mirror and stares again. Sometimes he paws at the base of the mirror like he's trying to let the reflection out.
