I have been looking and searching on the whereabouts for the Onstar fuse on a 2008 Silverado. I have found one post/thread about this, and it says it is #22 from the side panel which is "Driver information center" is this true?

 

One more question if I may, I received a hypertech max energy programmer and i want to see what it does. Do I have to take the Onstar, radio, and remote start fuses out?

Have any of you done this without taking the fuses out?

Are you wanting to do this just to try out a tune?

 

If so, you don't need to worry about Onstar. They will not know you have it tuned.

I'm guessing you're asking about these fuses because the Hypertech's instructions suggested you remove them...? I seem to remember the instructions that came with my Predator said the same thing. I never removed the fuses and I never had problems using the Predator with them in there.

Just make sure you have a good strong battery. If you are unsure, put a trickle charger on. The reason to remove fuse is to prevent power draw. All aftermarket accessories should be disabled, alarm, stereo, brake controller, remote start etc.

I've never had to remove the fuses on any vehicle that I've programmed, but there are trucks that get hung up if the fuses aren't removed. If it were me I'd attempt to program with the fuses in place and see it works or not. If it doesn't work you already know what your first step of trouble shooting will be.
