Help Truxx Leveling Kit

Recommended Posts

Hello all,

I had a TRUXX 2.5 inch leveling kit installed and now have an issue. My Boot on the front axle has been rubbed into on the right side. The Left side is rubbing also, but I can't understand how. The lift was installed per directions and the lower strut piece little U is facing the outside like instruction said. I am taking it back to the installer since the tire company found the issue.

One thing is I have driven the truck for about 3500 miles before actually getting the front alligned. I wouldn't have thought that would have done it, and I do not offroad the truck. Anyone else seen these issues? If you haven't checked look under your truck now and let me know if you see any issues, because I am ticked!!

Thanks, Fish

Well your first mistake was driving any farther than from the installer to the alignment shop. Any time you do ANYTHING that could be affecting suspension geometry it is imperative that you get an alignment right away to prevent excessive improper wear to suspension components. I'm thinking it's very possible the rub was caused by this one error.

Actually buying it was the first mistake. Total repair going to run around 850.00. The kits on TRuxxx website installation instructions are wrong. They were followed to the T. The problem is the u shaped piece needs to point to the motor not the outside of the truck like the installation doc says. Waiting now on a phone call form the owner of the site. They will pay me back for this.

What TRUXXX part number did you install? Do you have a NBS or a NNBS?

Thanks

OK, I just went and looked under my truck and the "U" shaped piece is indeed toward the motor (bottom of U is away from boot.

Got pics coming from the dealer. Yours was put on right if indeed were towards the motor.

Kit number:Part #: 406035

Installation instructions(Dont use them though) I got mine professionally installed as well per instructions which screwed me!!

I had mine professional installed as well. I checked mine and its the same, the lip of the "U" spacer is definitely toward the motor. If you look at the picture in the instructions, it is mounted the right way, just a miss print in the wording.
