Autoride On 06 Yukon Denali

Just recently (this week) i noticed that the compressor in my Denali hasn't been turning on when i start the truck, when it used to everytime. No sagging, no heavy towing to begin with, just the occasional full load from my family piling in. Used to level everytime no matter what on start up. No trouble codes thrown. I bought the truck with 96K on the clock, it was extremely clean. Currently at 98K and just noticed this. I wash regularly, live in Iowa, salt but not a ton...any suggestions? diagnosis? where or what to check first?

The compressor is probably gone. If you need to buy a new one I would suggest checking with Arnott Industries www.arnottindustries.com

They have gm suspension parts for gm autoride vehicles.

Damn you have 98K on an 06. Ya the compressor is probably shot. Mine went out at about 65K on my 05. The extended warranty company covered it they tried using the arnott compressor and they didnt want to have to cut wires and swap everything over so they put a GM compressor in.

I have 93k on my '02. Compressor just went out. I may have to look for the GM replacement. I didn't realize that you would have to splice in the Arnott unit. I thought it would be plug and play.

My 02 suburban has 98K on it but 98K on an 06 is a lot. My 05 Yukon has 67K and I thought that was a lot. Ya i thought the arnott was going to be plug and play also but it wasn't. You also have to swap the pressure sensor and dryer over and I think there was something else I know the factory plug has 7 pins on it.

Hmm... I think if the compressor broke, you'd get the service ride control message. My compressor on my 05 Denali used to run every time I started the truck and then when I put a load on it. Recently it was coming on at stop lights, or pulling into my garage. It turned out that my LR shock was leaking. Replaced both for $850. OUCH. Now it runs normal. Sometimes it doesn't run when I start it in the morning. I think I have seen something about the ride control module that is mounted next to the compressor. I would start there, but it could be you have a leak free system in perfect shape. Try starting the truck, let it run a few minutes, then you and a couple buddies stand on the rear bumper and see what happens. If the compressor doesn't come on there could be a problem. Good luck

Also on my second compressor since buying an 06 Yukon xl 1500. Can someone tell me which fuse controls the compressors running. Currently my volt meter flickers a little like something is trying to run. I presume the compressor is trying to start. But can't hear it running. Thanks Frank

I would check your shocks for cracks or tears in the air bags. They won't really sag without a load, but leaking air bags will cause the compressor to run more often and fail prematurely.
