I have a '08 Sierra and was looking at a Skyjacker 3" lift. That is all the lift I want and I was looking for opinions or experiences. Thanks for your constructive help.

How is the front lift attained with that kit? Hyper extended upper ball joints fail very quickly on the GMT900 trucks. Rear lift is no problem.

Its a true 3". Lower crossmembers drop the LCA's and you install new knuckles. Diff is dropped and comes with new struts. Pretty nice kit IMO.

Edit: If you have autoride, they use spacers to retain the oem autoride struts.

Rough Country has a 3" lift kit out like that also.....Rough Country

Noooooooooooooooooooooo. Glorified leveling kit. Stay away. Still bad lower balljoint and tie rod angles. Not to mention changing the dynamics of the front suspension with the different UCA and balljoint angle.

I hate that kit

If I were you I would get the Rough Country 2" leveling kit and the Zone offroad 1.5" body lift. It is way cheaper and easier then the skyjacker kit. If you are going to pay for the 3" skyjacker you should just get the bigger 6" kit. I like my set up and it rides great. Only have $250-300 in to it. Way cheaper than the skyjacker!!

Over $1700 for 3" of lift?!?

That's why I said to get my setup for about $300 and have 3.5" of lift and save the $1400 for a set of rims and tires or just save the money.

I personally would never install a 2" spacer. Highest I would go is 1" and the max if recommend is 1.5"

Remember, they cost the same as a 6" susp kit because they come with all the same parts... Its a real suspension system, not a leveling kit

I was considering the skyjacker and the 4" CST lift, but was concerned about increasing the front driveshaft angle with my AWD system (could cause vibe issues and require More $$$ for a new one). ... So I went with the 3" body lift and couldn't be happier with how it turned out. I've had numerous people (both online and at work) shocked when they find out its a BL, these trucks really pull them off.

With that said, if you really only want 3" and can't swing the price of a suspension lift, on these trucks I'd recommend a 3"BL. And then you can alway throw a 1" spacer in the front to make it a total of 4".

if money is no issue(we all wish), go with your kit. if ur a little tight on cash, id say body. easy, fast, and looks good on nnbs.

Wow, thats the perfect Height I want, only 3in but the kit its the same price as GoRancho, and what about Skyjacker? Is as good as Rancho kits?

That rancho is a quality kit, but you will get 5.5 to 6" with it, and there's no way to turn it down to 4" like on torsion bar trucks. If you really only want 3 or 4 max, the rancho will be too tall (that was an issue for me, anything over 4" requires special inspection in NJ and I didn't want to deal with that again)
