2009 Oem Navagation Installation

I am a new member to this forum and would like to get some information about trying to install the OEM Navigation unit. I recently just bought a 09 Silverado LTZ, without navigation. The truck does have the XM radio/Bose system. What I would like to know is it possible to install the OEM navigation unit with the OEM back up camera? Also, does anyone happen to know what the part#s are for the stock OEM navigation and back up camera?

Programming the radio from non LUX to LUX or vice-versa can NOT be done

at a Dealer with the Tech2. There is something about the NAV radio

programming that is proprietary, and only people with access to Delphi

base programming can change the radios. A Delphi repair house (Specmo www.spemco.com)

can do it for a charge. But it sounds like your better off just

replacing the radio to the correct one you need. There is a guy that

So, make sure you get the one that matches the RPO code for your truck. I'm pretty sure the LTZ comes standard w/ the LUX, but double check it via RPO codes.

 

As for the camera, it doesn't need to be OEM. There's plenty out there that work just fine.

I believe those numbers are for the 03-06 and Classic Trucks. The 07-09 use a different radio.

Yeh, that list is not for 07-09 trucks. I recommend calling the parts department at a local dealership and get them to give you the part numbers that match your VIN. As far as installation, it is pretty much plug and play for a brand new Nav unit that has NEVER been installed. Once installed, the Nav unit marries your VIN. A dealership can "unlock" a radio that has been installed in a different vehicle for a fee (I think it is about $77 or so). I believe the backup camera is plug and play too. Not too sure about that though... It may require some programming to make it work. You do have to drill in your tail gate and the bottom of the bed at the back just underneath the tail gate. This allows you to pass the wires through to the tail gate handle. Do a search in this forum and you can come up with a lot of helpful tips from people that have done this before. Good luck to ya!
