Sierra Led Tail Lights Installed

I recently bought an 07 Sierra CC. I noticed right off that the right tail lamp had a small crack in it and there was some condensation inside. So I ordered some LED tail lamps online. It was either these or factory Denalis which I have never seen any used online before. So these were $225 for both. Not too bad considering it comes with an all new wiring harness and two ballasts per side. I like how they almost look stock when no light is emitting but bright as hell at night. All the other LED lights I have seen are to "ricer" for me.

The only compliant I have is that these were not plug and play. First you have to use the wiring harness which comes with the lights. Ok no big deal. But then I found out you have to use your factory clips used to screw the lamps into the bed. The ones it came with I could never get the screws to grab on to. Also you have to use your pins off of the factory lights. The ones that come with the LED's were to big for the holes on the bed which they slide into.

I just wanted anyone who was interested in changing the factory tail lights to see what they look like. I usually wouldn't change tail lamps at all but I figured if I was going to have to spend $70 for one I might as well spend a little more for LED's.

Those are pretty cool.

Have any pics at a distance when they are off so we can see how they look in the truck?

maybe it's just shadows, but it looks like the top right hand portion of the light sticks out a little bit. do these things actually mount in flush? or can you tell they're aftermarket?

Judging by what LED lights Ive seen for the Sierras, Denali's and Tahoe's, those actually look pretty good. Most of the aftermarket lights even some of the LED ones looks terribly ricer, and have bad fitment issues. Good find on those!

Wait.. LEDs require a ballast? I know they need a solenoid to prevent the fast flash for turn signals.. but a ballast?

I'm guessing he's just referring to the in-line resistors that "fool" the truck into thinking the LEDs are just regular bulbs.

I got them from K2 motors. There isn't a lot to choose from for Sierra guys.

I will take some more pictures later today and put them up.

I didnt have that problem. I would contact k2 motors and try and troubleshoot it with them.
