Tow Rating

Excellent. I'm glad to hear that they're doing this. I found it interesting that Toyota sounds lackluster in their support, even though the proposed tests sound very above-board and fair.

I think it's a great idea. I'd like to see Fords truck tow 11,000 lbs quite frankly and how well/poorly it handles the weight. Personally I don't think it would handle it all that well, nor do I think my Vmax would either. As stated in the article, Anything above 8000lbs should be towed with an HD in my opinion for alot of safety reasons. Just because they say you can, doesn't mean you should :fume:

My brother has an '04 F-150 that's rated at 9,900 lbs. He rented a mini excavator off of a neighbor and he let my brother tow it because he was only going 2 miles. The excavator and trailer weighed around 11,000 lbs. I was impressed that his truck didn't sag too bad, but his motor was screaming trying to move it. He later said that he would not do it again.

On another thought, Ford's are heavy.
