01 Yukon E Brake Help

Just changed brakes on my 01 yukon and did the emergency brake shoes too. After doing some searching is seems like the 1/2 ton e brakes don't work as they should. Also there is something about a updated clip that is supposed to help. Anyone have a picture of the clip? I bought new shoes and a hardware kit. The hardware kit had a extra clip that I didn't know what it was for.

also forgot to add that there is no light that comes on the dash when I set the e brake, is that normal?
