Wanting to put the sub from my old truck into my new truck with the addition of a new box. The trucks an 09 sierra denali and was looking at subthump boxs. I was wanting the dual ten box with amp space but now worried there wont be enough air space

I have 2 10" apline type E and 500watt mono alpine amp.

The box is rated at .6 cu ft each air space and i think the subs require more. If i still used this box does anyone no how this will effect the sound.

This set up sounded great in my 04 extended cab off the stock headunit.

Those alpine type e's require .6-1.25 cu. feet of airspace per sub. I think it should be alright. If you want, you can get some poly-fill stuffing and put it in the box. It "tricks" the sub into thinkin it is in a bigger box and would make it sound better.

like the stuffing of the couch or a pillow. You can find it at walmart. Regular old insulation works as well if you or someone you know has some kicking around. Just put enough in the box to cover maybe half or so. Dont cram it in there. Play around with it and see how it sounds when you add more or less.

so i installed the system from my 04 into my 09 but now am having problems. I used a Pac Trunk loc taking the signal from the rear door speakers but now anytime i turn the volume up the subs cut in and out and sound very distorted.

Hasnt anyone added subs to a new style gm with the bose system using the pac trunk loc

I had problems using the back speakers in my 08 silverado I am using a pac high level converter I moved it to the front speakers and it sounds awesome now. My problem was I wasnt getting enough current because my stock back speakers are 8ohms. If all your equipment worked fine before you took it out of your 04 I would try moving your converter to the front

Thank you finally i found someone doing this same setup. Do you have the factory bose system also? What was happening when hooked off the back speakers im going to have to try that. Was told also maybe i should try taking the signal from before the factory amp or at the factory sub location.

I just ordered the JL audio stealth box. Sits in the center of the seat where the jump seat was, it's cool that it fits into the surrounding GM module. They also make one that goes into a console if you have one of those. I heard one in a local truck and it's awsome!! I also don't loose under seat storage, I have an extra cab and that was important. Kinda spendy but worth in the long run I think.

I was looking at that JL stealth box myself, but was concerned about losing the middle seat functionality. I assume it is just carpeting on top of fiberglass - does it feel like you can still sit on this or that it won't be able to hold any weight? Also, how did the install go? Any pics?
