Ordered Dic From Gmpartsdirect

So the other day I ordered the panel (#25783286) and the switch (#15947841) from gmpartsdirect for the DIC upgrade. Yesterday I received an email that the panel is on backorder by GM and GM does not currently have a ETA.

My question is what should I do? Should I wait it out? Cancel my current order for the panel and look elsewhere? Anyone have any suggestions of other places to buy this part or what to do???

You should cancel it and wait until GM starts manufacturing them again.

I did that upgrade a couple weeks ago. I ordered part 19159438. It included the panel and switch. You might try ordering that way and see if it works better. I used GMpartsdirect.com too and they shipped right away 3 weeks ago. Cost me $88.09 w/ shipping/ paypal. Maybe it's just a new part number problem.

Cancel your order and do as Pilot12 did. Don't know why you would order it as separate parts. Those numbers are special order items

Cancel your order and do as Pilot12 did. Don't know why you would order it as separate parts. Those numbers are special order items

I ordered them as separate parts because it's been done by several users on here and it saves a couple dollars. I'll just go ahead and cancel the panel that's on backorder... can't cancel the switch because gmpartsdirect won't allow me to... and order the entire piece together. I'll just have an extra switch to play with.

Since you've got the one part, have you tried checking with other outlets? Maybe they have the plate in stock

I checked other websites and some had the part but I didn't bother calling to find out whether it was in stock or not. I went ahead and cancelled the plate order from gmpartsdirect and ordered the entire piece. In the end I'm out about $15 for the switch by itself but I'll try and sell it on here, ebay, or just keep it for incase.

I ordered from Chevy Parts people myself...order was as quick as ground could get it here. Might give me a buzz and see if they have any in stock

I to have been waiting for the parts for the DIC saves about 25-30 bucks if parts are ordered seperatley.That is o.k. in no hurry,they will show up sooner or later.

I ordered the panel and the switch Friday afternoon from the parts department at the local GM dealership and had it by 08:15am Saturday morning and had the DIC installed and working by 08:30. it was a few dollars more but I didn't have to wait.

I ordered separate parts because it was cheaper. They told me that the panel was on backorder and that was in (April?). I cut and fitted the panel I already had. Saved me major bucks.

Got close up pics of how that turned out? I was thinking of doing the same thing.
