Do you have a pic? If you mean the compartment with big oval button, closest to windshield, that is indeed for the garage door opener, but I'm sure you would see that clearly. If you mean a semi-smooth blank, black panel that slants down at approx. 30* angle toward windshield (i.e. semi perpendicular to the rest of the console that is attached to headliner) and is about the size & shape of a small rearview mirror, IMHO? That's the "DELETE- rear HVAC controls" cover. No idea if that's the official name, I just call it that cause the guy who sold me mine called that. The SUVs have HVAC dials etc there. I was told it's a kind of rare part to find alone. Not all that much room behind it but enough for a few aux switches etc. Someone (like me) is always looking to buy an extra one if you decide you don't need it. Hope that's helpful but best I can do w/o a pic.

It is just a convenient place to store anything you want that will fit. I have used it for garage opener, sunglasses, cel phone, company ID badge, etc.

Ok. Yeah it's the location for the ac controls then...or where they would be. I just wanted to know what the actual purpose was for before I mutilated it. I can't watch that video on my iPhone, but judging by the title...yeah. I actually thought of that because one of my friends had a similar idea in his f150.

I love to see what else is out there. The ones I have now I got from work. These guys out here will replace a set because only one horn sounds. All I do is clean em up and 9 times outta 10 they start working. I actually have two sets right now. I can't decide which ones I want to put on the truck! : /
