I thought you'd gotten over this idea?

Seriously, walk the hell away from this particular truck and never look at or think about it again. If you want a D-Max that much, be patient and wait for one that hasn't had the absolute hell abused out of it. Even if the dealer fixed some of that truck's current problems, it doesn't make it any better than it was before when you looked at it. You would still be running the serious risk of wondering what would break next.... not if, but when.

Also ask yourself once again if the things you use a truck for honestly justify having a D-Max. Diesels aren't meant to be grocery getters unless you have to drive 20+ miles to go to the store or something. They're for longer distance hauling.

I say do whatever you want dude it's your money. My buddies have Dodges with Cummins lifted 8 inches in the air and they hardly ever drive them. I call that a waste. What you are wanting one for I would not call a waste.

I heard on the radio yesterday morning that the used cars were bringing way more than they were a few yrs ago. Apparently, the recesssion has dampened the new car sales and people have turned to used cars, which has driven the prices up. Also, the average age of cars on the road has risen. Both are signs of a slower economy and consumer reluctance to spend on new vehicles.

I'm over it...Still want one...in the future. I just wanted to show you guys the actual truck. It took the dealership forever to put it online.

Gotcha. There are definitely some major red flags raised by the condition it's in, and the price they want for it.... but on the surface it "looks" decent enough.

What's funny though is that while you're right, used car sales are up much higher than new car sales, the market is also flooded right now with used cars. At least in my area, you can find just about anything you'd ever want to look for in a used car without looking too hard, yet the people selling them act as though they've got a nugget of gold in their hands. It's rather frustrating and pathetic, really.
