Want A Littlle More Out Of My 2009 Denali

I have a 2007 Denali XL and I am getting ready to swap it for a 2009. I purchased the K&N air induction kit for the 2007 and plan on transferring it to it to the 2009. This was a great power adder for me. I really noticed the difference.

I am curious what else I can do (that is proven) to the 6.2 liter that might get a little more performance out of it. I am considering the GM touring catback exhaust option - I am unsure if this will help or just make more noise.

I want to avoid any modification that will make it difficult to have any unforeseen warranty repairs done.

Any suggestions would be appreciated!

If your worried about Warranty...Leave it stock.

After exhaust and intake your down to re-flashing the ECM...and they don't like it when you do that. Some dealerships don't mind....but 99% of them do and will not honor the warranty...than your truck gets flagged so you cant have work done anywhere else either under warranty.

Even hand-held units are kind of iffy.

I have heard of guys still having work done with an edge programmer...as well as the banks stuff for the diesel guys, but its a gamble.

The truck comes with 23 more horsepower than your 07 anyway...you should notice that. That's more than a CAI gives you, so add you old CAI and you should notice a big difference.

Buy a spare PCM and have that one tuned. Keep the original one for warranty work.

Not if he has a 2007 GMT900 denali, it will have the same power as the 2009.

Contact Justin with Black Bear Performance. He has about the cheapest prices on ECM and I know he has been tuning 2009 trucks so I bet he has the ECM's in stock.

As far as your CAI goes. You should probably check to make sure it is going to work. I am not sure on the 6.2 trucks, but for the 5.3 and 6.0's they change the MAF sensor and built it into the intake tube. Meaning you will have to do some custom work to get your current CAI to work. You have to cut out the MAF from the stock tube to place it in the aftermarket. That get's back into that warranty you are worried about.

It says in various places that I have searched that the 07/08 6.2L has 380hp and the 09/10 6.2L has 403hp....including Edmunds

You may be right. :) I just realized we were talking about a Yukon Denali. It's not uncommon for GM to tune them different then the trucks. I know the Denali trucks in 07/08 came with the 403hp 6.2, but I am not sure about the Yukons.

That's balls......

Why would a truck need more power than a a big Yukon.

I mean you will be probably towing with both, and the Yukon XL is definitely heaver than a truck.
