I'd go for a low-profile black one. I think black on that light grey color truck (if I'm thinking of the right color) would look good. I don't like chrome on light colored trucks for some reason.... Just my 2 cents worth.

Also for God's sake don't mismatch chrome and black please... one of my pet peeves. :nonod: Chrome toolbox and black brush guard.... :D

+1 for the black.

That chrome will look great for a little while until it gets tarnished. I find diamond plate so hard to clean and it nevers shines like it does when you bought it. plus it would look much better with your truck like seth said.

I voted for the black one. As they mentioned above, the contrast of the black box will look good with a light color truck

But you can always paint one of the chrome ones! I can't say which I like best. My original thought was the black one because it looks deeper, like it would go all the down to the bottom of the bed. Is this good or bad for you? Will this be in the way if you want to get something short and long like sheets of plywood or 2x4s? Or do you think you'll need the toolbox space more than the bed space under the toolbox?

Then the second one looks like it has 2 more cubic feet of space in it.

The Lowes site is pretty useless, though, huh? It would be nice if they had a cubic foot measurement or at least the dimensions of the box...

You may want to go to each vendor and physically lock/unlock, open them up, check out the latching mechanism and see how you like it.

The chrome TSC one is 11.7 cu ft

The black TSC one is 9.2 cu ft

NONE OF THE ABOVE!!!

I suggest something that sits just below the rails for a nice clean look, but you probably expected that from me. :D

I'd go black, and here's why:

You're getting a crew cab, meaning a 5'8" bed. That tool box is going to take up a considerable amount of space in the bed. If you ever have to haul anything long in the bed, you'll probably want a bed extender as well. I have yet to find any chrome bed extenders, but I know for certain you can find a black one. In order for them to match, you'll want a black box too.

Would it be wrong of me to insert the old saying "once you go black, you won't go back" here? :D:nonod:

+1 for below the rails. I just saw bare clad aluminum and black choices. If chrome were available, it wouldn't be my choice as it tends to peel abuse and weather. I'd look for a box with the best construction and locks. The finish would be secondary.

Thats not an option. Had it in my last truck at it was a PITA for hauling stuff

I vote for black. I have an aluminum one that was on my '02 and it looks pretty bad. I'm having it powder coated black, not sure how it will look but I'm hoping it turns out good. It is a Delta Pro, I prefer Delta or Weatherguard for the latches being on the side, easier to reach. That's personal preference though.
