05 Z71 Rims Onto 08 Z71?

Just got some winter rims, some 17" Z71 off an 05 and justwondering if they fit?

Put them on and it doesnt fit flush in the back, doesnt go over the center, just sits flush

The fronts fit, center went through the center whole on rim, but not the back

is that ok?

I havent driven it because im worried that its not sitting right and that I could snap the studs by driving it.

They should fit.......as I've seen many 800s with 900 wheels on them.

I think what he is asking is does the GMT800 fit on a GMT900 because it sounds like the center hole diameter is smaller than the 900 hole diameter? This is a good question because I just got a set of 06 GMT800 Z-71 rims myself for winter. MS3DALE do you know????

I think the center hole is the same. What I remember in the 900s on the 800 is the 900 stuck out about either 1/8 or 1/4 inch more.

being just a humble shade tree mechanic and old fart, I could be wrong.

I don t know if it fits but I wouldn t drive it if doesn t fit and sit flat on the drum. Did you push the drum all the way back in?

I know 900 fits on the 800 but looking to see if the 800 fits on the 900s

But then if it was me and I had both rims, I would walk in the ole garage, get the dial calipers and measure them......

I m not sure if he means the hub just doesn t come thru as far or it doesn t fit in the hole??? Either way, the rim must be supported on the hub.

Yeah, I was thinking they were hub-centric.

I installed mine with no problems tonight. It doesn't allow the center hub to go all the way in but it did catch a little bit of the inner hub. I am pretty sure this was the way the original factory one's I had earlier would fit.

My assertion is that if 900 wheels fit on an 800.............then logic tells me that 800 wheels *should* fit on a 900.

Ok cool, yeah it does go on a bit, just worried that it didnt go over like the front thats all.

Semi floating and full floating axles are hub centric meaning the weight of the vehicle is transferred to the wheels via the axle hubs, all other axles are lug centric axles meaning the weight is carried by the lug studs.
