If money wasn't an object, BF Goodrich All-Terrain T/A KO's, If you don't wanna pay that price , and can afford to wait for them to come in General Grabber AT2's (look just like the BFG'S for alot less!) My '85 GMC 2wd had Durango XTR's on it, but I cannot find them anymore. They were an awesome tire too! I aqm going to put these on my '07 GMC Sierra 2wd.... Hankook DynaPro ATM RF10's

... all pickup trucks will be challenged somewhat on snow covered roads

... you have to modify your driving habits to get around effectively and safely

... that being said, (in my opinion) it is actually very difficult to find a really good SNOW TIRE

... there are lots of very good so-called studless ice-radials on the market, and I have a set of TOYO OPEN COUNTRY G02plus on my Buick (that impress me very much in the cold icy weather)..... but I believe these are very good on a front wheel drive car and/or a 4-wheel drive medium size SUV

... to me, for a 2WD truck (I own one and drive it daily ...) it would be nice to have something with a fairly open tread design, have the mountain/snowflake certification to meet the severe snow service standard, have soft enough rubber and sufficient siping, and have the ability to have studs installed...(it might sound a bit old-school, but then getting around in a rear wheel drive in the snow relies on some old-school driving habits as well....)

.. for now, until I find a good dedicated SNOW tire, I'll get by with my TOYO OPEN COUNTRY AT which are pretty fair in the snow (got by pretty good last winter...) ...

.. put about 200 lbs of extra weight in the back and drive easy to avoid spinning tires on take-off and sliding when trying to stop.

+1 on the Nokian Hakkapeliitta LT

+1 on the 600+lbs in the bed. I have 300lbs of steel and cinder blocks that I put in...than I shovel my driveway into the bed...that's about 600lbs or so.

Snow in Victoria?? I bet that doesn't happen to often!

Get some Blizzaks, fill that bladder and use second gear start when it gets really slippery.

I second that. I have been using blizzaks for about 10 years and have been very pleased. I just got 4 steel wheels from a friend for $100 and Blizzak DM-Z3 tires for $150 mounted and balanced a piece.

LOL...not often...but last year we had a big dump...almost 2 feet...which is an enormous amount for Vic.

I am originally from Newfoundland though...so I know snow.

I have used Blizzaks before too...they are a really good tire...I would rank them just under the Nokian Hakkapeliitta LT. And I mean just under.

... the Cooper Arctic Claws will work well for you

... and don't worry, you will need them

... not much winter here in Saskatoon either, but ....

... well I finally quit dithering about what kind of snow tire for my C2500 2wd this winter

... today I got 2 Arctic Claw XSI studded and mounted on the rears

... LT225/75R16 Load Range E ... $490 total for tires, studs, mounting, valve stems, balance, taxes, and environmental tire levy.....

... with my G80 locking differential, a few hundred punds of extra weight in the back, and a little common sense driving, I think I will be able to get around just fine now.

... if the snow gets real deep, I carry a set of tire chains..... just in case :smash:

HOLY CRAP MAN...........THAT'S AN AWESOME PRICE

Yeah I only have a 2wd...we got dumped on last year in Victoria, I had about 600lbs in the box and I had no issues.

But than...I'm originally from Newfoundland....so I'm kinda use to snow. :smash::uhoh::lol:
