Bose Speaker Replacement?

Recommended Posts

I have a 2009 Sierra crew with the bose system. Has anyone just replace their door speakers only and kept the bose amp, sub, head unit and tweeters. I was wondering if this would improve sound quality or not? If so do you have to worry about the new speakers ohms? I just want to improve sound, but do not want to mess up stock radio and amp.

Here are the numbers direct from Bose.

Thank you for your inquiry regarding the Bose Automotive Music System in your 2008 GMC Sierra Denali. I have attached a pdf file containing the Bose System content for your review, however the ohms are not shown on the diagram so I have listed them below.

1" - 4 ohms tweeters

3.5" - 4 ohms center

5.25" - 4 ohms rear doors

6.5" - 2 ohms front doors and sub

I hope this information answers your questions.

Thanks so much Texx. I have a SLT instead of the denali will that make a difference? I wouldn't think so.

These numbers are for the Bose system. If you have a Bose system then I would bet they are the same.

I know that I am reviving an old thread, but it's exactly what I'm looking to do. Can I just change out the speakers on my bose system in the doors to all 4 ohm speakers? I'm looking for a stronger fuller sound.

I started the thread sometime ago and I am still in the same situation. I still have factory bose speakers. I would like to know what you could replace them with, how many ohms and if it would imporove the sound.

The Denali has the "LUX" version of the upgraded bose system. It is quite a bit different from what I've read. I wouldnt trust those numbers if you have an SLT
