Front Differential Plug

Recommended Posts

Time for first fluid change on the differentials (2007 1500 Silverado Z71). It looks like the front drain and fill plugs are easily accessible, and the fill plug looks like some sort of flange bolt, maybe 2-3 inches in diameter. Am I looking at the right things here? I thought I had read that people have to remove engine guards and skid plates to get at the front diff. plugs? And what's with the oversized flange on the fill plug? Any pointers here would be helpful, I'd hate to mess this one up!
