Frozen Windows

Hi,

 

Now that it's winter, my windows are freezing shut again. I have to get a blade and run it between the glass and outside window/door seal.

 

Is there anything to treat the seal with so that it doesn't freeze to the glass?

Try spraying the rubber seals with silicoln.

Frozen windows suck!! This happened to me for the first time last year and I wasn't prepared for it... I was trying to get on a military base and as I approached the guard stand my window wouldn't go down . So i had to open my door to show them my ID.... guards DO NOT like to see car doors opening as you're approaching them

 

I tried all the tricks last year and nothing seemed to work. So I left a putty knife in my truck and would give it a few stabs before i left my house to make sure the window would go down.

 

Not sure if i ended up "working in" the seal... but it hasn't froze on me yet this year...

This problem has occurred on just about every truck I ever owned. Never found a product to keep this from happening though. Usually an old credit card can work it loose. Kind of a pain but that's the price we pay for enjoying all that winter has to offer.

I got this de-icer stuff at Wal-Mart a couple months ago on sale for a buck. It's made to spray right onto frosted windows and clear them up, but I mainly use it to spray down into the window seal and it melts and loosens everything up.
