Plug Gap Help

04 6.0l 2500hd I got new ac delco iridium plugs part#8#41-101 the guy a parts store told me to gap them to .040 so i get home and take a look at them they are way beyond that and i don't think i can get them down that far.anyone have this issue?

Go back to the parts store and get the right plugs. If you have the 41-101 they are pre-gapped at .060. You DO NOT re-gap iridium plugs. You can damage the electrodes.

 

41-110 (not a typo, different from the plug you said you have) is a non- iridium plug. 41-985 is an iridium plug. Both are gapped at .040

 

41-985 is what several charts show as a replacement for you

huh, that burns me you would think he would know what he was talking about if he works at a parts store.you are right i went to acdelco site and it says SPARK PLUG ASM

I certainly agree. These plugs are not to be gapped. Just get the right ones. Makes you wonder about the parts guys right?

ya, I did a reverse part# look up and seems the fit v6 camaro etc.that's pretty sweet huh...

that would have been good for my 6.0
