Escalade Remotes For Silverado?

Has anyone tried using the 08+ Escalade remotes for the Silverados?

Look pretty cool, it'd be sweet if they would work. If someones tried them please let me know the results, if not I will give it a shot.

What would you use that last button for?

The ad says it's used and cracked in one corner. Sounds like a waste of $35 if there's a chance it won't work. At least he's stating to contact a service department to see if your VIN number will even work.

I didn't even know that their fobs were different. They do look really nice though.

Wouldnt use it for anything because I doubt it can be programmed for something else. But Im not worried about ppl asking me about the button. I don't "show" my remote off to people, just want it because I've seen/used/felt these ones and they just seem like better quality and look cool (for myself).

I wouldnt buy that exact one. I'd buy it through my local dealer, and if it doesnt work, they will take it back for full refund, if it works, i'll go find a nice one on ebay.

Would there be a difference btw the remotes for the different versions of the cadillac, I mean the style like the Tahoe and like the Avalanch. Sorry I dont know the exact names for them. The ones like the Avalanch wouldnt have a lift gate would they? If you can find one like that it probably wouldnt have the extra button. Just a thought!

As far as the unlock and lock buttons I will almost say yes because my dad has a 08 escalade ext and Ive programed his remotes to see if they would work on my 08 silverado and the unlock lock buttons worked but the auto start didn't which is the reason i was trying it in the first place. The dealer can probably program the auto start not sure tho.

As far as I know the remote start has to be programmed by the dealer either way. Do you already have the remote start, or are you trying to add it.

I have the remote start already, just wanted to upgrade remotes ... and I HATE the 2 ways so thats out of the question. Gmercury, thanks for that idea, never thought about it, ill check it out!

How is the range when using the remote start with the Escalade? If its any better than the chevy / gmc remotes this would be a great way to extend the range of the factory remote starters.

The escalade remotes look nice, but I'm thinking off adding a Viper Alarm with Remote Start like the one I had in my 2003 Suburban.
