Cruise Control Issues

I was driving home from holidays in my 2006 Sierra 2500HD Duramax and out of knowhere the cruise control shut off and I can't get it to go back on. I also noticed that my left turn signal just stays on constant as well. I have checked the fuses and they are fine.

 

What could be wrong and how can i fix it.

Perhaps on of the lights have shorted out.

It can throw your cruise control out.

I agree, it could be from the lights shorting out; or likely some sort of short in the wiring system. A wire might have gotten chaffed and now there could be some exposed wire ...

I had the exact same problem with my 2003 GMC Duramax. The problem is a bad sensor feeding the ECM faulty info. Unfortunately, it's a trip to the dealer.

Any specific direction that can be given for where to look for these wires or anything I can do on my own.

 

Something i figured out today. If I leave my left turn signal on (stays constant), my cruise control will work properly. Theres some crossed wires or bugs somewhere.

Sounds like you need a new multifunction switch.

 

your lucky...some of them go and you cannot get the 4 ways to turn off...or get the brake lights to come on...or the high beams stay on...on coming traffic loves this one.
