Hello everyone. Finally found a nice looking legitimate Chevy truck forum!

My recent purchase from a Colorado to a Silverado has spurred this joining. Here is what I posted in the Coloradofans.com forum:

First off, the Colorado is a great truck. As a previous S-10 owner it is an improvement in my opinion, though I did love my S-10... Honestly I have owned 7 Chevrolet's and have loved every one of them.

I purchased a 2004 Colorado new. It was a red extended cab Z71. I left it pretty much stock for the year and a half or two years I owned it. Put 26k happy miles on it with no issues or problems.

I then moved on to a 2006 Colorado Z85 2WD Crew Cab 1LT with the auto-locking differential. This was a great truck, I absolutely loved it. I owned it for 3 years and one month and put 66k miles on it. This one I went a little wilder in with a full sound system, under the seat subs, new interiors, head unit, 4-channel amp. It has rhino liner, had a matching white fiberglass topper then moved to a folding leather cover, tinted windows. No major modifications.

Finally I ended up where I am. Living 600 miles from family, and thus 600 miles away from being able to use their stuff. Needless to say, I have the need for large trailering a handful of times a year. I now can do that myself. Also my wife wanted at least one of us to have a 4 wheel drive vehicle, which won't be necessary 99% of the time but none the less if the wife gives you a chance at a new truck who wouldn't take it.

Any way, I went back to a Silverado. I owned a 1999 extended cab new body silverado work truck, 2WD with a 4.8L V8. I loved that truck but it needed locking differential to make it in Michigan.

My new truck is a 2006 Silverado Crew Cab 4x4 2LT 59k miles. It is really a sharp, mint truck. It is GM Certified so I am back in warranty which is nice. 12 month 12k mile bumper to bumper warranty and up to 100k odometer mile power-train coverage. It has the center console and auto climate control which is great. Drives perfect and is a REAL clean truck.

Here are the numbers if you are interested:

Trade-in value for Colorado was $10,900

Bought the Silverado for $17,995

After they take you for all the junk charges and tax we ended up financing about $8,900 as the Colorado was paid off.

The last couple straws in the camels back for the Colorado was getting stuck in Virginia during some snow (2 winters in Michigan and I never got it stuck) was probably more my fault but finally was pulling a small landscaping trailer behind the truck up to Michigan and it having to stay in 3rd gear at 70-75 mph because of the wind resistance on the trailer without the topper. Also blew a fuse which killed cruise control and tail lights while driving down here. Found the source of the issue (trailer wiring) but obviously that wasn't the truck's fault.

As you can see in the title I am also lucky enough to be a Corvette owner. I have a 2002 Corvette Coupe with a manual. It is stock and has about 56k miles on it. Only after market items are an iPod adapter instead of the 12 disc CD changer and a C6 Shifter instead of the stock C5 shifter.

I love that car, it is Millennium Yellow, which I thought I would hate but now I love it.

First pic is when I took delivery of it. The rest are from the company that sold it to me. And yes I put the yellow license plate cover back on. I'll take the ticket for the looks upgrade :dunno:.

Thanks everyone,

Look forward to learning a bunch about these trucks and being a good member!
