Borla Vs. Magnaflow

Hello all, since no one makes a catback exhaust system for my specific truck, I'm probably just going to have a muffler welded in. I 'think' I have it narrowed down to these two. Let me know what you think, or if there is anything I should know. Thanks.

You can't go wrong with either one.. The borla will be deeper but a hair quieter in/out the cab.

i haven't heard a good borla on a truck.. everything i've heard them on makes em sound raspy..

i got a magnaflow with a 3" tip sounds nice and low

it's only an 18" muffler cuz i put it as a side exit.. cheaper that way too.

I loved the Borla with my 5.3.

I am going to let you do this and tell me how bad the drone is

I am going to hold out, and see if they deliver on a system in the next couple months. If not, I may go this route as well, with the Borla XL CI/DO

Both of the mufflers you picked say 3.5 in/out, you dont need that. If you are just putting the muffler in you dont want any bigger than 3in. Stock exhaust is 2.75

Buddy measured outside diameter of his 08 2500 gasser and it was 3.5...It is pretty big, definitely not 2.75. I'll measure again to make sure.

I assume he thought you had a 1/2 ton, but any ways, I just put a 5"X8" 11" long Magnaflow on my '96 with the 5.7L (350) IMO it's just right, very little drone in the cab, but you can definately tell it's there when you step on it

The borla has a 16" inch case length, while the magnaflow has a 22" case length. Any ideas as to which would be better in that respect?
