4 Wheel Drive Position Indicator Light

Just got my truck back from having the 4-wheel drive switch replaced because of a 4-wheel drive problem. The 4-wheel drive lights work on the switch showing whether the truck is in 2-high, 4-high or 4-low; however, the green position indicator light on the switch is not lighted. I don't remember now if it used to be lighted all of the time or not. Could someone confirm that the green indicator light is normally lighted?
