Hazards Work, Turn Signals Don't

Earlier today my turn signals worked fine, when I got off of work they wouldn't turn on. When I push the hazard button the lights work. I'm thinking it is the turn signal switch that went bad but not sure. I have only had the truck for 3 days. It is a 1988 GMC 3500.

I could be wrong but I thought the turn signals used a different flasher unit than the hazard lights due to having twice as many bulbs for the hazard lights, that should be easier to take a look at and test. Maybe someone can confirm that and give you testing procedures.

IIRC this was a common problem on the GMT400... not sure of a fix though...
