Quick Change Oil Drain Plug

Interested in changing the engine oil drain plug on a 2003, 6L, Chevy Suburban 2500, to one of those quick release types.

Does anyone know what the thread size is for the OEM engine oil drain plug?

I wouldnt happen to know, BUT have you tried calling autozone or a place with knowledge on this OR just looking it up for the quick release im pretty sure you can find it in a few seconds. If you cant let me know (post) I will help you find out what it is.

That Fram version would be fine too, as I was originally looking at the Fumoto valve.

 

I tried NAPA, up here in Quebec, Canada. They don't stock, nor source it.

 

Ebay looks like a viable alternative for this backwoods area.

Try Rockauto.com....thats where I found the dorman part number for you...8 bucks US I believe. They do ship to Canada.

Fumoto makes petcock style drain valves for all kinds of diesel applications. I wonder if they make them for gassers too. You mike google the manufacturer and see.

They do, I have one sitting on the table next to me ready to go on next time I change my oil. The F-107, and you'll need the ADP-107 for these engines, they are 12mm-1.75

Brims, when your right, you are right. According to a Fumoto distributor the 6L on a 2003 Chevy Suburban

will need the adapter ADP-107 before the drain valve F-107, or F-107N, because of the

recessed port in the oil pan.
