Hi And Low Beams At Same Time

I have a 2009 Silverado 1500. I was going to hook up my headlights so all 4 come on when I turn on my high beams, like I have been reading about in this forum.

But after checking the operation of the lights, this already happens. My old Silverado (2000 model) did not do this. When you switched to high beams the low beams stay on -on this truck. When did they change this? I thought the low beams always went out when the high beams came on. Anyone know when this changed?

Sorry that I can't answer your question about when things changed, but you got me curious to see if this applies to my new '09 Silverado as well, so I just went out to check & confirm ...

All FOUR lights do indeed come on when I turn on my high beams - no mods necessary. :banghead:

In case it matters, my truck was a very late '09 build - Sept. 2009 Born-On-Date.

All the GMT900 were made for the lows beams to stay on with the highs. What you have reading is for those who want to keep the fogs on with the highs as well or people wanting the lows to stay on, on the GMT800's.

Fixed it for you :banghead:

My 06 silverado, now called Classic style, does not. So maybe with the body style change. I was actually thinking about wiring it so my lows stay on with highs cause right now I'm holding the switch back and it does the same, but as soon as I let go.... back to lows only. Weird thing is my fiance's 04 malibu has lows stay on with highs??? Cars in 04 trucks in 07? Why didn't they do this years ago???
