Well I gave this stuff a try below since I was able to get it for $20 bucks:

must say this is my first time ever doing a 2 step process for waxing. I can wash the hell out of a truck but never had the patience for a 6 hr wax job. Well from start to finish to 4 hrs and did it by hand. Here are pics from the camera phone and I must say I love this shit. For only 20 bucks I was able to wax the hell out of the truck. A lot of the scratches and marks are completely gone and I am extremely happy with the results. I think next time I will put on 2 coats of the carnuba wax. Pics are with a camera phone. I will post the camera photos once I get them off my girls camera.

Making me feel bad, but I have to wait til the snow disappears a bit or at least until we get some rain to wash the salt off the roads so I can bring the truck over to clean it.

Where'd the Dubs go? The black looks great! Still, four hours is a long wax job! You might want to try Meguir's NXT, you could probably cut another hour and a half off that time at least

Looks good, first I heard of that product. Where did you pick it up at?

I waxed mine 2 wks ago and it was 18 degs out, not much fun at all but it was worth it. Only reason I did it was to get some protection from all this rain/snow/salt.

I've used this too and loved it... Only down side is that it didn't seem to last as long as i'd like. Its a lot of work but worth it when your done. It's made for black vehicles. It has a black pigment in the detailer and wax so it's different from most waxes.

I'm due to get some new wax.. maybe I'll give that stuff a try.. Yours turned out really nice

Thanks for all the compliments fellas. The little dude helped just by posing in the pic next to me

I took off the dubs due to the winter months here in MD. I don't feel like having to go outside and wash my rims every other weekend. MD doesn't have much salt on the road but VA has tons of salt still on the road. I plan to do a wax job on the rims also when I get some free time.

The reason why it took 4 hrs is because I did it by hand and they have multiple steps. I pretty much went over the truck 4 times!! Once with the pre-cleaner & Wax, then remove it with the detailer sprayer, then use the carnuba wax, then remove it with the detail sprayer. A lot of work but I love the results. I have never tried to use an orbital on my truck but someone used it before and let a ton of swirl marks!!:sigh: So I use my hands only.

You can pick this up at any advanced autoparts or autozone.

I'm betting that was a hack detailer with a ROTARY polisher; orbital polishers don't instill swirl marks.

Not trying to be mean here, but I'd suggest having a professional who knows what they're doing polish your truck out, and then you can maintain it with the wax of your choice. From your pictures I can see there are a LOT more defects that can easily be removed with a proper machine polishing procedure. Just look at the paint in full sun, especially at a direct reflection of the sun and you'll see what I'm talking about.

Looks like you got a good start on it though!

Yeah thats exactly what I'd like to do...but there's a lot of nicks in my paint. I may just get it painted in a couple years...

Nicks as in completely through the clear and/or base coats? Depending on depth I think you'd be surprised just how much can be taken care of by a professional with the right tools, products, and techniques.
