Okay, I have the Crankshaft Position (CKP) Sensor A Intermittent code. Can this keep the truck from starting?

Is there a post on the site that has a DIY replacement on this?

Thanks,

Larry

That will keep it from starting. The sensor is on the front of the engine next to the crank. One bolt to remove and the sensor just unplugs.

Grose67, Thanks for the help!

Glad to help.

I replaced the sensor and the truck reacts in the same manner - no start, P0339 code.

Any suggestions?

have you reset your check engine light after replacing the sensor?

Thanks for the reminder. I doubled-checked just to make sure, and after resetting it does react the same - P0339.

Thanks

Do the connectors look ok?

That was what I suspected, because I know how brittle they can become over the years. But they look in perfect condition. I did receive a response on the GM Tech side of the forum that suggested the blue wire with the white stripe is the problem.

(Now all I have to do is try to find the break in it!)
